All of these issues being posted... I feel lucky to say that I have had zero issues on any of my Pixel 6's so far. Other than the blurred notification pull down which has been fixed on the December update.

I'm pleased, as normally I do have issues with Pixels. Particularly always being an early adopter.

Not good others are experiencing it, but sometimes these things do get too much press as if the phone is basically unusable, which I really don't think is the case.

I'm fine dealing with some bugs. It's the lack of communication on when they will be resolved which I'm not ok with. Google still claims on Twitter that the Dec update is released and is being rolled out, which is clearly a lie if you look at any of the polls on who has received it.

No I haven't looked at polls.
I didn't get the update all you Americans got which supposedly improved the finger print scanner. But I got it a month later. At least I knew it was coming. Like I say, if the bugs are making the phone unusable, I would be selling if and moving on.

But really, they seem to be more like quirks and annoyances. Which to be honest most phones have at launch.

Mostly yeah, the bugs aren't deal breakers. The one outlier is signal issues I've been having. It seems a lot lower in places where it wasn't an issue before. And I'm having issues during 5g to LTE handoff areas where I'll lose service for minutes at a time. And also when wifi calling is turned on, it seems to make service worse.

But, it's hard to tell if the service issues are with the phone or with TMobile. TMobile has been a problem for the past few months due to the Sprint acquisition.

Yeah that would annoy me massively if signal was off. I have had a phone that done that before, can't remember for the life of me which one now though.
That isn't acceptable. Hopefully they sort it out.

Yeah, I'm getting pretty frustrated by the lack of service and dropouts. But my wife is over it. She wants me to sell her Pixel 6 and get her an iPhone.

Definitely frustrating for a lot of people. I don't blame the wifey. It gets very annoying when you drop and signal some of the stuff you could deal with but signal that right there is a deal breaker.. but hopefully gets sorted out but in the meantime I could see not wanting to wait... Are you holding her off on replacing?

I’m on T-Mobile and my 13Pro Max doesn’t have any issues. Pop my sim in my 6 pro and it’s spinning wheels, drops, etc.

I'm trying to hold her off. Unlike a lot of people, we aren't invested in the Apple ecosystem and neither is our inner circle. She likes the Pixel cameras but more than anything she just want something with good battery that works. The iPhone is probably best for her tbh. But losing any form of advanced messaging would be annoying. So if I stayed with Android we'd be forced to message through standard text which is awful.

But if this issue with the Pixel isn't sorted in the next week, I may just throw in the towel, sell both Pixels, and get us iphones. I've been wanting to try iOS again. I just know I won't stay with it long and my wife typically keeps phones for 2-3 years.

That's the thing. Even with the bugs on iOS, it's still pretty much easier for someone to have in the long run with minimal issues.. My girl came from the Note series and a few hiccups on a previous phone, including a factory reset with no user interference. Got her over to an iPhone quickly and never looked back... I'm lucky because of work for now. I can carry the iPhone on a regular basis but later on down the road once I plan on retiring. I don't think I'm going to keep two lines and I will have to make a decision myself lol.. I would at least try to see if they get this straighten out for the January update before you make a decision...

I knew what I was getting myself into when I pre-ordered the Pixel. I expect bugs for the first few months and actually I expected more than usual because of Tensor. But I figured they would be more performance related issues and the usual visual stuff. Signal issues are a whole different thing. A smartphone has to be able to do the basic things....the first of which is be a phone. If it can't even do that reliably, then we have a major problem. And that's where the Pixel currently sits for me.

Totally agree with you my friend signal issues. Those are not ever ever acceptable...

The Pixel 6 Pro is horrible without a case IMO.
It is just a bar of soap. I hate the curve more with no case as it just makes the phone a nightmare to hold and use.

The regular 6 with its flat sides and screen is delicious nekkid, but the Pro needs a case for me.
Is anyone rocking one of these nekkid? Also, please don't recommend a skin ?. I hate the things and am yet to see one that actually looks nice. Sorry to those who rock them, just really not my thing ?.

No way. Like you said, it's way too slippery. I'm currently using a Spigen Ultra Hybrid matte black. It's doing the job just fine.

The case selections for Pixel 6, first or third party, are pretty terrible too. Even though I like the Google case, I hate not having many options.

That’s actually always been my complaint about iPhones for years. Call quality was abysmal and I relied completely on my HTC10, Pixel 2, and Samsung phones for the best call quality.

My husband and I both experienced an issue with our Pixel 3XL’s in which the sound would drop out. We initially thought the calls had dropped but soon figured out the connection was there but one person wasn’t hearing the other for some reason. We never did get that resolved but it seemed to happen more between me and him and less with his other callers. Odd.

But generally I’ve associated Android phones with the reliable connectivity and iPhones with frustration. That’s with Apple messing around with those intel modems.

I don’t know what’s in my current XR. I assume it’s the same intel modem it’s always been for this model. I’m doing okay on calls.

I mentioned before I thought night mode had flaked out on me on my Pixel 6 Pro, but when I went back to look at the photo it looked fantastic. So I’m assuming I saw a version that wasn’t finished processing yet. If so, let me say that picture took a long time to process! Yeesh. The other possibility is I was dealing with black crush on the display.

Meanwhile a 13 Pro Max night mode photo we took of our dinner tonight really glitched out. It looked weird like everything was glowing. I looked quite angelic. 🤣 For a change!

I forgot I had my Pixel 6 Pro in the front pocket of my backpack today. I thought I’d taken it out so I was pretty rough with my bag, kicking it a lot with my feet in the car, for starters. Throwing it down on the floor when I got to my mom’s house. Oof. I’m not trying to beat my bag up but I’m rushing around and I’m exhausted so I’m just less careful than usual.

I was pretty upset when I realized it was still in there, because that post about the displays reported to “spontaneously” be breaking was on my mind. There’s still no screen protector on, I just haven’t had time at all. But it was fine! Whew!

Well off I go to bed. I did get all the gifts wrapped, I was only able to have Sister-in-law over as the old folks home went on lockdown and we couldn’t spring her dad out. We were all crushed but what can you do? It’s a pandemic and they made a last minute judgment call for the residents. I’m dropping in to feed my mom daily and do whatever needs doing. I’m not able to visit my dad yet. It’s kind of crazy but we will work it out as best we can. My dad wants us to have a merry Christmas and we will do everything to keep the spirit going.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday season to all!

I'm on Verizon with unlock phones I don't notice any difference between my iPhone or Android ..I do think Verizon has stepped back a little with reception in areas where years ago they were hands down better for my daily usage ..calls I'm good just data I feel it .. Pixel and Samsung run the same ...have a Merry Christmas and holiday indeed ...

Thank you. I hope you are having a wonderful day.

I gave my husband his Galaxy Fold 3 and to my and the kids utter shock he was genuinely shocked and surprised. I thought he kind of knew, but he didn’t! He was so excited. He said it’s fine I wasn’t able to get my S21 Ultra in for trade. I got him a bunch of other presents but that one was the big surprise.

I’m so excited over my green iPhone 11 I unwrapped a little while ago! I didn’t think I’d get one until spring. I’ll set it up and test it out but will continue to use my XR awhile. I also got a purple iPad mini with case. I also got an Air Tag with keychain cases. I’m always misplacing my truck key so I look forward to seeing if it helps me be less frantic!

I took videos with my Pixel 6 Pro and they turned out really beautifully. My husband was starting off taking photos with his 13 Pro Max but didn’t like the low light results and switched to his Pixel and was very happy with the Pixel results.

My mom was doing well when we visited her and my dad got good news back on one of his tests. We are waiting and praying on more tests. We will try to visit my father-in-law too when we can arrange it.

Well I am off to set up my iPad mini and my new iPhone 11.

I just read an article about Pixel 6 and 6 Pro owners havin their phone screens randomly crack either whilst in a pocket or charging 😂.

It's getting a bit ridiculous now. Some of these stories are just click bait and the image used of one of these supposed cracked screens is of a Pixel with a huge impact crack at the bottom corner (very clearly dropped).

The actual issues people are experiencing, like signal problems and general bugs and annoyances are very much in need of a fix. But all these other nonsense stories are just getting a bit out of hand.

I've seen a few of the screens cracking and stuff but it's not widespread I mean any phone. You always get some issues. I've seen it with the Samsung fold and flip. I know those are not the stronger screens like the slabs but I do see some one off issues here and there. Everyone just piles on to crap on the phone.. I do agree though, The signal issues and some of the other bugs definitely need to be fixed for people..
