Haha I feel you!
I'm really pleased with my Pixel 6. Don't miss my Pro one bit, so I have no need for a second device.
I don't even have an iPad anymore. Call 2022 my tech detox 😜.
Lol listen to me. We alllll know this is BS and I'm weak.
The iPad mini 6 is really cute….😁

Fortunately I am happily settled down now with my mint green 11 Pro and purple iPad mini 6. I’ve also got an Air Tag for Christmas I need to set up. I’m pretty well set for Apple stuff now. Finally, Apple’s not taking my money in 2022. Goodness knows Apple got plenty of my money the last 3 years!

I’m settled down with the Pixel 6 Pro. I was originally planning to get the Pixel 7, but I’m having a hard time imagining doing that when I intend to keep the 6 Pro permanently for reasons of sentiment and affection, like I did Snowball. From a tech perspective, it does everything I wanted it to do and could want it to do perfectly. There just isn’t any compelling reason to not use it for at least 2 years. Google could still get my money when they release the watch this year. Though it’s hard for me to imagine not wearing my Apple Watch Series 6. Or is it 7? Whatever the latest one is.

Samsung is now my Achilles heel. I’m obsessed with the s22 Ultra. There’s a lot that Samsung does that annoys me, but there’s a lot they offer that is fun. I’m also going to see what they do with the Flips and Folds this year. Depending on how it goes, I may finally take the plunge on a Flip. If I don’t, it will be because I find myself too short on time and energy to really enjoy playing around with one. Long term, though, when my life settles back down, I fully intend to explore foldable phones.

To be clear, day to day, I am primarily using just the iPhone 11 when I’m out and about. I’m not literally juggling 3 phones. You won’t see me frantically digging through my handbag trying to find which of my phones is ringing! I mean…yeah…been there done that……so I’ve learned to NOT do that anymore. 😅 My friends now know to just use my iPhone number.

I don't see myself ever getting away from having an Android Phone and an iPhone. I bought a Pixel 6 Pro so I could have dual SIM and use Microsoft's "Your Phone" app for work. (I really like that app.) I use my iPhone 13 mini to manage the various Apple family services we have since the rest of the family are on iPhones.

I had to activate iMessage for the first time because I had to join a customer's iMessage group chat.

Honestly, the iPhone 13 mini just seems so small. I mean it works for my needs and I got tired of carrying two big phones. (Carried a Samsung Galaxy A71 5G and an iPhone 11 Pro Max for a while.) But I feel like I would prefer having an iPhone 13 Pro.

I'm happy with the Pixel 6 Pro so far. But I'm seriously looking at the Samsung Galaxy S22+ when it is released. I'd really like to start using DeX. I'd also really like to start using the Samsung Galaxy Book S with the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 processor.

(I need to use an application that uses Parallels RAS. The software vendor says that the application will not work right with Parallels RAS on ChromeOS or on Android. But will work with Windows on ARM.)

I have a Verizon SIM and a Mint (T-Mobile MVNO) eSIM in my Pixel 6 at the moment. Roughly once a day, at random, exclamation marks will appear inside the two signal icons, and I won't have any internet on either SIM. Toggling airplane mode off and on will fix it. Is anyone else having this issue?

I have a T-Mobile (Prepaid) SIM card and Verizon eSIM in my Pixel 6 Pro. I have not experienced the condition you describe. I use the T-Mobile physical SIM for voice and SMS and the Verizon eSIM for data.

This is my current dilemma. I have a Pixel 3aXL now, and would like to upgrade to a 6 Pro. However, I'm really enticed by the size of the iPhone 13 Mini. Reading this thread, as I mentioned earlier, nearly has me convinced to just get both, as I could justify them for different use cases...

My 13 mini arrives today! It should be waiting for me when I get home from work... I switched from the iPhone 13 Pro to the Pixel 6 and I've got the 13 mini. The Pixel 6 was my first foray into Android in about 2 years or so, my last full time Android phone being the smaller 3a. I really have had a good time with Android 12, for me, it's the Pixel 6 that is the problematic one. I'm going to sell the Pixel 6 off and find myself a nicely used Pixel 5 for reliability sake - I'll swap my SIM between the iPhone and the Pixel 5.

The 13 mini is awesome. It’s currently my favorite iPhone.

GF is getting really bad reception issues on T-Mobile pixel 6. Phone randomly decides not to route calls or texts, even though mobile data is fine.

It’s possible it could be T-Mobile thing because I use Mint Mobile which uses their network and reception and calls as well as texting is never a problem.

Does she have WiFi calling enabled? Turning it off may help.

You can also try to get a Cell Spot for home use.

Yesterday YouTube kept buffering while I was driving. I listen to it, don't watch it. Anyway, I changed the network settings to LTE instead of 5G, and it started working fine. Go figure.

I've been doing the same thing. My carrier Mint Mobile uses 5G from the T-Mobile network and I set it to LTE because everything seems to run better. I don't use a lot of data and when I do, LTE is fast enough.

The question of the day is how many were returned?

Lol not mine, that’s for sure! I’m depending on it to help me with an animal rescue project I kind of stumbled into recently. I need to photograph in horrible nighttime lighting under terrible conditions potentially adoptable feral cats. It’s a project my late father wanted to do but wasn’t able to take on. I’ve gotten some good photos already.

But you’re looking at it the wrong way. What it shows is a solid uptick in Google’s phones. That’s the key. Forget returns because regardless of who makes them, they get returned in mass for numerous reasons such as buyers remorse, didn’t like the color, defectives etc.

That happens to everyone including Apple, Samsung and others. What Google is really looking at are general sales and if they are trending higher. They would be more concerned if the new Pixels were selling about the same or lower than last year.

It appears they are finally doing something right and the Pixel phones are finally getting attention. They should be encouraged.

Hey, the bar is set pretty low so it's not too surprising. Companies love to spin things (Apple and Samsung included). Without numbers, it's a nice marketing spin.

Absolutely! That applies to everyone, however every company has its own internal depts that look for signs when products are selling or not selling as well as they should. Google has a track record, bailing on products that are not meeting their expectations. Google is not looking for the Pixel phones to sell in the iPhone range each year but they do want data to show that their decision to build their own SOC was worth the investment. Their internal data must be telling them it was.

wait does Apple report the same numbers you are calling out Google for? Have you called them out for it in the Apple threads or iPhone threads? It seems some Apple fans want to call out other companies for things Apple does. But doesn't want to call out Apple for the same....

Stop making this an Apple vs Google thing. Apple doesn't report the numbers anymore. I specifically said earlier, "Companies love to spin things (Apple and Samsung included). Without numbers, it's a nice marketing spin." I know you saw that!

it is that way because Apple fans who don't own Android phones come into the Android threads and throw shade for issues they do not call Apple out for in the iPhone threads.
That is what this is about.

Come on Jamezr. I have a Pixel and iPhone. Apple, can get equally criticized just like any other company because they definitely aren't perfect especially the trash ass Siri that can't even get birthdays correct.

Except he’s not wrong. The best previously reported or rumored sales numbers for the Google’s phones have been anemic at best, and last year was pretty terrible considering they only released a single Pixel 5 that was not well received. Claiming they’ve set a sales record without any numbers to qualify it, when the previous bar was extraordinarily low, doesn’t tell us much. Maybe they sold 100,000 more phones? Who knows? That would be a record but in the grand scheme of mobile phone sales, it would be pretty awful.

And even though this quoted article has nothing to do with Apple—yes, they no longer report unit sales but they do break out iPhone revenue so you have something to compare to previous years performance.

Let’s wait and see if Google does the same before applauding them for a pretty non-specific comment.

Update: So I missed the link to their quarterly earnings report in my first read. I went through it quickly but I don’t see any breakout of hardware sales, much less Pixel specific. Somebody able to point me to where I can read that?
