I know i've said it before that I have no plans to buy this years Pixel phone but i've said that the past couple of years and I now own three Pixels. I'm starting to feel like GrumpyMom's brother.

That said, nothing in the Pixel 7 rumors excites me. I have never owned an iPhone and recently i've had the urge to put my Apple Card to use and buy an 13PM because of that sick emerald green color but I may hold off to see what gets introduced with the 14PM. I will probably skip the Pixel this year and possibly add an iPhone.

Haha too funny siblings on this forum for sure ..let's see what 14 brings ...not a bad way to get Apple card usage ..

If anyone here by chance is interested in an M1 11 Pro 256 5g I would do some kind of trade on a Pixel 6 Pro, S22 Ultra or 13 Max, send me a pm

Playing around with my GFs pixel has me considering grabbing one as just a little break from Samsung.

Love the UI, and my GF says the bugs are mostly ironed out.

Overall the camera on my S21 ultra is better. There is a strange plasticity to the processing on the pixel images, and I really love my 10x zoom.

However we have been looking at dogs this weekend, so lots of taking pictures of zooming subjects. It is the one place where the pixel is super rock solid.

Yeah good luck takin a photo of a dog with a Samsung ?. Unless it's asleep...

Speaking of Pixels, my 6 is becoming more and more buggier as time goes on. The last 3 days I've had an unresponsive screen more times than I can count. I lock the screen to try and shake it off, but then can't unlock it as it doesn't register touch. After about 10 seconds it starts working again.

It's hanging more than it used to in strange areas, like using 'extra dim' from the notification shade. Takes ages to turn on and off. It's strange.
Maybe it's the lack of RAM compared to the Pro?

Just out of curiosity.. why trade the iPad? And what phone do you currently have?

I have a 12.9 I’m keeping and a busted screen 3 XL. I was using a Pixel 5a but it over heated all the time and Google is going to swap it out but I’m going to sell the replacement

At the last minute I decided to keep the Pixel instead of the S22 Ultra. There's just nothing like the smoothness and beauty of stock Android. It's the little things the Pixel offers that make it amazing.

For me, NOTHING beats Google's Call Screener. That's what has kept me from buying an iPhone or a Samsung phone. I have had coworkers who've had Samsung Galaxy phones and they looked and ran really well. The UI was really smooth but I put more value keeping out the Robocalls.

I can't put my SIM into my 6 Pro because I'm so dependent on iMessage (everyone I know has an iPhone). But I bet Call Screening is amazing! :(

Yeah, so what’s the deal with iMessages? I’ve read that Google wants Apple to adopt SMS because they say it’s better and more secure but Apple wants to keep using iMessages. Which is better? I’ve also read snippets that the reason that Apple user love iMessages is because if the bubble is blue they know it’s coming from an iPhone but a green bubble says it’s Android. That can’t be the real reason, right?

Since Android 12 text messages now follow the color of the theme your phone is using.

My biggest thing is sending videos and sometimes photos. Anytime I use an Android to send or receive from an iPhone it looks like a blurry postage stamp video. I know there's workarounds like Google photos links etc but with iMessage its so simple. I hit send and it goes thru, (near?) full quality. It even does it with pics sometimes.

I have Android and my wife has iPhone. No issues sending or receiving photos in either direction. Most of my friends have Android and a few have iPhone. Videos, photos and messages are shared daily with zero issues. None of us use iMessage so that may be the key. Now that I no longer live in North America I am free of having to deal with people who claim they are caught in the iMessage trap.

I’ve signed up for Beeper and just created my username yesterday. Hopefully the queue will keep moving. It looks very promising re: combining all chats / messaging apps in one place and even works with iMessage. If successful could be a game changer for many looking to ditch Apple once and for all.

I agree.
The call screener and just my preference for the UI in general has kept me back on my P6 Pro the last few weeks over my S22U. I like the overall look, feel, and utility of the Pixel software in comparison to Samsung and that's enough to keep me on the Pixel even though I pretty much like everything else more on the S22U. Camera, display, build, battery, s-pen. I'm sure all those things will lure me back in but as soon as the robo calls start coming thru, my sim usually pops back out and into my pixel.

I truly do love both phones I can definitely understand going back to the pixel as for UI fluidity I really don't feel like my pixel outperforms my ultra... But it's the other intangibles like it's call screening and the voice assistant that has me going back to the pixel .. right now I'm trying to do one week in and one week out each phone let's see how long that goes LOL

I wish I could be like a normal person and just get a phone, use it as my only device till I NEED a new one, and be happy.

LOL there's no such thing as normal around these parts my friend join the club., So I am proud I'm still rocking my iPhone 12 Pro since release date... Maybe I'll even keep it another year and wait on 15 LOL

Any idea when the public beta's start up for Android 13 for us to download and install, over the air? I thought this month?

Simple wallpapers;

I finally sold my Pixel 6 Pro on Swappa last week, and trying to keep my S22U and iPhone 13 Pro Max. We'll see how it goes. SIM is in my iPhone currently because of iMessage and FaceTime :-(

Your two reasons causing you to keep your SIM in your iPhone are easy to replace. You folks in the US who say that you would move away from iPhone in an instant if not for iMessage are handcuffing yourselves for no reason.

Why did you keep the S22U but sell the 6 Pro?
I absolutely hate using cases, and using the P6P without a case was just too much work. I had a skin on for a while, and that helped. Ultimately, it was the fingerprint scanner and S pen. The FPS on the S22U is just a lot better. I don't do a lot of voice calls whenever I have my SIM in my Android phone, so hopefully I won't miss Call Screening too much.

My entire family uses iPhones. My nephew is 10 and FaceTimes me, so it's difficult to move away from, since his phone is locked down to only being able to dial\iMessage\FaceTime family.

My family and friends have a mixture of Android and iPhones and we have no problems messaging on Whats App, sending photos and videos, holding non-video voice calls and video calls. Perhaps his phone could be locked down to include non Apple services. I feel for you, but personally I would not let communicating with a 10 year old relative dictate my choice of phone. But we all make choices.
