I finally sold my Pixel 6 Pro on Swappa last week, and trying to keep my S22U and iPhone 13 Pro Max. We'll see how it goes. SIM is in my iPhone currently because of iMessage and FaceTime :-(

Never understood that reasoning to stay with iPhone because of iMessage and FaceTime?

I love my Pixel 6 Pro, only other phone I would ever trade this for would be the 7 Pro this fall. Only way I'd ever come back to an iPhone is if iOS gets a major revamp and much needed revisions.

My immediate family, my wife and kids. We all have Google Pixel phones.

My exttended family of siblings and parents probably 70% iPhone.

Friends and co-workers probably 50 / 50 iPhone / Android.

My point: I had all my iPhone family + friends install Google Duo for video chat. Even my mom and a couple other older people that have zero tech experience were able to do this and it works perfectly for us.

And also most installed Telegram or WhatsApp and it works practically the same as iMessage. I still never understood the DieHard support for iMessage. I just don't get it. It just seems like any other text app.

As you all know I'm a huge Nexus/ Pixel fan, but last year I had the iPhone 12 Pro Max for 10 months. I think I used FaceTime literally once. But used Google Duo on the 12 Pro Max almost daily. And iMessage after having that iPhone almost 1 year I still fail to realize the hype or why it's so cool? It literally was nothing special whatsoever.

I agree. I would try a Pixel but Google seems to have no interest in actually be successful in the phone business as they sell them in so few countries. I left iPhone 3 years ago and am quite happy with my Samsung.

Here's mine. :)

iMessage is native. Telegram and Duo (sans Pixels) are not. A lot of people view downloading an app for something they can already do natively as an inconvenience.

As a bigger picture there are people, such as myself, who thoroughly enjoy Android devices. I currently have a Pixel 6 that I use from time to time with my main SIM, but it stops there. The PWA or bust nature of ChromeOS and the WiP-relationship between Android and Windows is hardly enticing.

iMessage is just not a big deal to me anymore. With everyone having Facebook messenger, Instagram messenging, duo available and I've got most of my family to install it. Apple is a pain in the ass trying to make their platform the only standard when there are so many ways to do things and RCS being universal.

Nailed it. I have a relatively large family and we are in a group chat. Most are tech illiterate, they'll send a video of something and it will look like crap because I'm the only Android user in the group. So it normally results in me either walking them through how to share it through Google photos (which could take half of my day), or I tell them to post it in the other group chat. I used my mom's phone to create another group chat without me in it so it's all iphones. Needless to say I don't see many messages in the chat I'm a part of, lol.

If you can't beat em, join em. My next phone will be an iPhone.

Would be nice to get some feedback from those individuals that have owned both the 6 Pro and S22U. Im familiar with Samsung flagships as Ive owned then thru to Note 20 Ultra and last one the S21U. One thing that I couldn't stand about the Samsung devices were its own version of duplicate Google apps and system files, some which couldn't just be uninstalled or disabled without ADB command line which I used often. What's the display of the Pixel 6 pro like? I heard perhaps green tint is present on some if not all units, haven't really researched much as of yet.

Display on the Pixel 6 Pro is good to great; I had no issues with green tint etc. That said, the S22U is amazing. It's pretty much the best display on any smartphone today.

I haven't noticed any green tint on my 6 Pro, but the first 6 Pro I purchased had a green line by the edges whenever I would watch something on Netflix. I returned that 6 Pro and my new one doesn't seem to have that issue. The only hardware issue I have noticed is a finicky fingerprint reader, but all the 6's seem to have this issue.

Not as bright, not as sharp, not as vivid.

It is decent, but Samsung flagship screens are in a league of their own.
I would have to agree. The Super AMOLED panel on the Galaxy Tab S7+ is downright amazing. I have seen there display phones at Best Buy and I compared them to my Pixel's and it's really no contest. The Pixel panel are nice and if you don't put the phones side by side, anyone would be pleased with either a Pixel 6 or 6 Pro display. It's not until you put them up to each other when you realize who has the far better hardware. When it comes to hardware tech and advancements, no one produces at the level that Samsung does, perhaps not even Apple. The Korean giants are in a class of their own.

I’ve signed up for Beeper and just created my username yesterday. Hopefully the queue will keep moving. It looks very promising re: combining all chats / messaging apps in one place and even works with iMessage. If successful could be a game changer for many looking to ditch Apple once and for all.
How’s Beeper? I received my email that I can now sign up for my account but the $10/month is maybe a bit too much for the services provided.

In what sense?

This has always been the case. Samsung basically provides every other big manufacturer with displays (other than a few who use LG) and its known they save their best panels for themselves. But most of the time, they're too close in quality to tell the difference. The usual telltale sign is brightness capability which is always the best on Samsungs own phones.

I went ahead and ordered an S22U in girly wine red a few hours ago. I really wanted to try another system like Pure Google via the Pixel 6 or 6 Pro but just couldn’t do it. Maybe it’s because I’m subconsciously partial to Samsung. After all I’ve owned all their flagships thru to the note 20U and lastly a brief stint with an S21U.

I am still on the waitlist; I'm not paying anything for it (aside from initial month when I get access to it) until I can confirm for myself on my own devices that it works.

OK - Just did the latest update that was pushed out a few days ago. Anyone else seeing weird (IE delayed) animations when exiting an app? Is there a fix?
