I've actually got 3 people I know who would be considered an average consumer to buy a Pixel 6 and they are all very happy with the device. All 3 came from iphones. No complaints about any kind of bugs or any displeasure about anything with it. With the last update the bugs seem to be gone for me and definitely experience less bugs than my 13 PM.

What sold my friends on the Pixel is the exact feature I can't give up. The Google call screener. I showed them and it blew their mind. Also magic eraser and the overall camera quality. The system UI is nearly as user friendly as the iPhone which helps. If carriers and Google showcased the little things this phone does to make your life easier and more productive I'm certain it would have alot better sales numbers. Everyone is just so programmed to think iphones and Samsung are the best devices that they don't consider the Pixel.

Still love my S22U and the hardware makes it hard to let go. The camera and zoom are amazing and nearly unmatched and the display, battery life, and S pen make it the overall best device in my opinion. But I just find myself using the Pixel for the little conveniences it provides.
I feel the same way.....I wholeheartedly reccomend the Pixel 6 Pro to people all the time. Is it perfect no...no phone is but it provides a great user expericne that goes beyond just the hardware.
In the end of things a great user experince is the most important thing.

You know its bad when MKBHD doesn’t even like the Pixel 6/Pro, and we all know he’s a diehard Pixel fan. If anyone wants a flagship Android, I’d definitely recommend the Samsung S22 series over the Pixel 6 series. The S22 Ultra is a damn good phone.

Oh yeah well if MBKHD says it then we should all blindly follow……
I mean if a tech reviewer says something we should take their opinion and not have one of our own.

The guy literally has a cult. MBKHD can tweet “ok” and it will go viral with his Android fanatics.

My thing is, when the Pixel ringleader aka MKBHD isn’t even liking the phone then I’m sure it caught Google’s attention. He “only” has 15.5 million followers on YouTube. Sadly, there are some people in this world who follow “influencers” and base their decision off what they think.

i am not so sure he is what you say he is. I think he uses a lot of Apple products.
Yep...like post their videos in Pixel threads.....

I’ve seen a couple of his videos and it appears he does use Apple products, including a Mac for video creation. He also praises the iPhone. To me he seems fairly balanced and he even gave the Samsung Galaxy phone of the year award over the Pixel 6 Pro.

exactly....so i would not call him the Pixel ring leader.....
I stopped following him because he just seemed to get more and more commercialized.

Of course as a tech enthusiast, he uses all the devices, though. But, he’s well known as a Google man.

The Google Pixel Reddit literally praises him. Lol.

I think he *likes* the Pixel line but it appears to me he has favored Samsung and the iPhone for a while. You are spot on about his cult. I guess I must be doing something wrong. Early on the P6P was a bit buggy and ran hot and had throttling issues when gaming but after the last couple updates it's been really solid. Only thing that still really frustrates me is the battery life.

Oh I don’t know. I’ve seen some of your posts and you set the bar pretty low.

But please, do elaborate on your snarky comment.

Lol don't cry because I've called you out on your stupid post.
I don't think my 'snarky' comment needs elaborating on. You know as well as everyone else that your comment was a stupid one. There's plenty of people using Pixels that work just fine.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll still be in line to order the next Pixel despite your claims but I won't have to read it thanks to that magical ignore list. :)

One of the stupidest things I've ever read on here.

I think I would recommend the iPhone or the Pixel if someone was looking for a phone that just works. I think some think of that as a lack of bugs, I think of it more about ease of use.

I do think the Samsungs over the years have become really stable, but the duplicative app situation could be frustrating and a bit confusing. The Pixel feels more like the iPhone of the Android world. I would almost dare to say the Pixel is easier to use than the iPhone. I am used to the settings app on an iPhone as I have used one for years, but it still feels like a jumble and disconnected mess to me. I prefer my app settings within the app, not in a separate settings panel.

As with all phones, they all have bugs, but most are fairly stable. But, I can see where he was coming from, the Samsungs have been really rock solid lately. My Pixels have been pretty good, but have been more buggy than the Samsungs that I have owned recently.

Oh you “called me out”. Grow up keyboard warrior.

I stand by what I said. Pixels have great software, when bugs aren’t getting in the way, and subpar hardware compared to the flagship Samsung and iPhones. That’s just a fact.

Saying Pixels “work just fine” is projecting like I said they don’t work, which I didn’t. For someone so quick to “call someone out”, you’d think your reading comprehension would be a little stronger. Pixels have more bugs than Samsung and iPhones, that’s pretty well documented

Oh and lets call a spade a spade. You got butt hurt because I said some negative things about your favorite phone to which you have a personal attachment.

Sorry..... This was snarky to begin with..
" Most people just want a smartphone that works, which means Apple or Samsung. "

Nothing like stating your opinion as fact huh? Therre are a lot of other phone makers out there making some great phones that work extremely well. The Pixel being one of them......

I’m speaking in generalities there. That’s why I said most. And I was speaking in terms of the US audience, guess I could’ve clarified that.

And really? Opinions as facts. So before every sentence do I need to specifically state “in my opinion”. I give posters here enough credit to distinguish between opinion and fact.

And again, I never said Pixels were bad phones. I’ve owned a ton of them and love the software. But can you honestly tell me that Pixel phones typically have less bugs than say the flagship S lineup or the iPhone? And can you honestly tell me their hardware is on par with those phones?

In my opinion, people buy Pixel phones because of they are android fans that prioritize software and camera over hardware and are willing to put up with the drawbacks that entails. Which is fine. But for the average consumer, I would recommend phones that are known more for stability. That was my original point which I stand by.

No need to drag this out anymore. You guys like the Pixel and I have some issues with it. We don’t need to continue the back and forth and hijack the thread. That wasn’t my intention.

For you maybe. My 13PM has more freezes, stutters, and crashes than any phone in my rotation right now. The smoothest is the S22U followed by the ZF3, then P6P. If you'd have asked me a month ago the Pixel would have been at the back of the line but that's just not the case now. And I don't know if it's a bug or just poor memory management in ios but I'm tired of everytime I go out of my browser the page I'm on having to reload and I lose my spot. I use all my phones pretty extensively and for whatever reason the 13PM frustrates me more than any of them. Then to add on to that it's just not as "smart" of a phone and it really has become just an expensive gaming device for me, which it is still better than the rest at by a long shot.

I love the iPhone and I've had every one except for the 4S but it's time for them to catch up with Google and Samsung in alot of areas. Yes, the hardware is fantastic but it is capable of so much more than the limitations imposed on it by the OS. Proper call screening would be a huge start as well as a revamped notification system. I'm excited to see what they have in store with the iPhone 14.

That's what keeps me away from buying an iPhone. Within this past week, Google's Call Screener brushed aside over 35 RoboCalls. It was suggested to me that if I owned an iPhone that there's an app that does that but it cost $5 per month. Why pay when Google includes it for free? We are at the point of diminishing returns when it comes to Smartphones. Apple's BIG selling point with the latest entry is using Adele to sing in one of their commercials why you should buy their latest green iPhone 13 Pro.

Sucks that your 13 PM has so many problems, but from looking around forums you seem to be in the minority. Wonder if you have a bad device? I know it’s antidotal, but my 13 PM has been the most stable, smooth device I’ve ever used.

I agree regarding iOS. It’s too simple and needs to catch up to Google in some of the smart aspects and features. Notifications in iOS have gotten better in recent versions but still lack android by a lot.

Holy ****, that is a ton of spam calls. I agree call screening is an awesome feature. It’s one of the things I missed most about leaving the Pixel.

Yea you can get robokiller and pay the subscription and it still doesn't do half as good as what Google does. Then to add on little touches like giving call wait times when you call a customer service number and the ability to wait on hold for you until an agent is on the line is amazing. I agree with the other poster about the hardware lagging behind but it's a phone that costs much less and does so, so much more.

I tend to average 5-7 spam calls a day. It's gotten so out of hand and why I place so much value on what the Pixel does. Between running the business during the day and all the kids activities after I'm constantly running from 6am till about 9pm and it has really become so invaluable to me to avoid all the distractions.
