Sucks that your 13 PM has so many problems, but from looking around forums you seem to be in the minority. Wonder if you have a bad device? I know it’s antidotal, but my 13 PM has been the most stable, smooth device I’ve ever used.

I agree regarding iOS. It’s too simple and needs to catch up to Google in some of the smart aspects and features. Notifications in iOS have gotten better in recent versions but still lack android by a lot.
I love my 13PM and it is my daily driver....but it has a lot of bugs...just like all phones do....Then have you looked in the iPhone or IOS threads and seen all the issues people have?

I tend to average 5-7 spam calls a day. It's gotten so out of hand and why I place so much value on what the Pixel does. Between running the business during the day and all the kids activities after I'm constantly running from 6am till about 9pm and it has really become so invaluable to me to avoid all the distractions.
A few days ago, I received a phone call and pressed the Call Screen button. I watched the transcription read: I would like to speak to the owner of your company. I knew CS, did its job. In the past I would be busy out working and having to deal with this not knowing if it was a legit customer. Now Google's Call Screener tells me. I'm semi-retired now but on occasion, if the pay is worth it, i'll take a service call.

It's the end of April, curious where the OTA Android 13 beta is? Developer preview 2 came out in mid March, and Google said the first downloadable beta for Android 13 would be ready next month.

Thank you. Is this for beta 3? The newest version as of today?
I am not sure to be honest. But if you already have a 13 beta preview you should get an OTA when a new version in available

*knock knock* hey all, it's been a while since I've poked my head into a pixel thread. I've kind of lost interest in devices. My xl 2 is still kicking but the Google app boot loops it for some reason.

Thought about upgrading my mom and sister to the Pixel 6(a?) And I have yet to pickup another device.

How does one get back into I guess phone hobby? Nothing really has caught my attention much o_O

Thought I'd just drop in I guess. Hope everyone is good, I do see some familiar names here still. ?

I've read that Android 13 developer preview 2 was super solid and stable. 13 is supposed to just be a more polished 12, nothing major changed, just fixes and minor things added on top of 12. Also cool is that Material You in 13 is supposed to have a bigger color gambit, more than just the lame pastel colors.

I'm going to install 13 beta tonight.

Enjoy your phone and be thankful that you have kicked such a costly addiction. If the 2XL is on its last leg, look at the Pixel 6 (non pro). Fantastic value and should last you a few years like the 2XL did. Go back to not spending time on this site before you get sucked back in ?

Installing the beta now, but holy cow this takes FOREVER.

Downloading is the fast part, but the Installing part takes soooo long... I'm shocked how long this is taking.

This thing is working so smooth after the last two updates and after all the trouble I initially had with it that I think I'm gonna hold off for now. Look forward to your thoughts on the beta

Was hopeful Android 13's updated Material You color options would be way better. Nope, just slightly better, no true dark AMOLED theme, still pastel'ish colors, but more options, it's better, but just a bit better, not was I hoping for.

And before on certain light colored wallpapers, setting that would change the clock and app icons name font to black to be easier to see on a light wallpaper, but now it just stays white, making it hard to read the clock, the temp, and app icons names on my homescreen with a light color wallpaper.

So far this Android 13 beta, is a big meh, nothing exciting or much different at all. Themes are still super basic on a Pixel.

Will probably go back to 12 on next week's, May update.

I'm not a fan of iOS but I will admit while I had my iPhone 12 Pro Max last year, the way it handles dark theme is the best.

It's truly black and all the apps are black, not some dark gray or midnight blue, but true AMOLED black. I wish Google would do the same.

Agree. Dark mode is one thing iOS definitely does better.
I don't particularly care for dark mode on the Pixel or my S22U.

Can take it a step further with “Dark Reader” app for iOS. Well worth the $5 or whatever it is now. It renders all Safari web pages in dark mode and follows light / dark theme settings on the phone. You can adjust to a couple shades of dark gray or true black. For the few sites that won’t work with it, you can save a “disabled” setting for that particular site.

I’ve found this to work better than Samsung internet browser on my former Android phones, it’s nearly perfect.

Sadly, I've moved on from the Pixel 6 Pro and went back to Apple (iPhone 13 Pro). The fingerprint reader being so inaccurate was really getting on my nerves. The battery life left a lot to be desired (and I'm not even a heavy user). Admittingly I will miss the punchy camera(s), the beautiful curved display (I actually like the curved design) and Android 12 in general, I really do like the OS. Google just needs to iron out a couple more things and it will be the perfect phone.

This is exactly my thoughts about the Pixel 6 / 6 Pro, too. Loved a lot of what it offered, Android 12 was a joy to use, but the fingerprint scanner was infuriating.

I brought the Pixel 6 to the beach for a kite festival. I could barely see the screen in the sun to take pictures. Glad I brought the S22 ultra as back up.
Did you set to adaptive brightness? I found it gets brighter in that mode when it is very sunny out. But, it will still not be anywhere as bright as the s22 ultra.
