There's a photo making it's rounds on Twitter that's been retweeted by some reliable leakers showing the Pixel pricing in the US. Take this with a big grain of salt because the price seems way too low. But there's a photo of Target shelves being prepped and they show...

Pixel 6 - starting at $599
Pixel 6 Pro - starting at $899

Make of that what you will.

Those prices would be insanely great. Phones would sell out in minutes LOL.

I sure hope that’s realistic, would get lots of people upgrading to new Pixel’s.

Right that's why I mentioned currency exchange rates which should factor that in the US price.

VAT is separate to currency exchange rates. I'd guess US pricing $1049/$1149 before tax, if Google doesn't do anything special in the US this year which last year bumped the US Pixel 5 price versus rest of the world.

Well we are getting close now. Lol I’m still looking for more leaked pictures and information. Jeez, I’m going to see it presented in a little over a day.

I wonder what kind of sound it will have. My iPhones have all sounded beautiful on their speakers. My Samsung is pretty good, too. With the display as huge as it is I want to watch movies on it so I hope the sound will be good. That’s just something I have not really associated with my Pixels so I hope they stepped up on this.

I decided once again to not upgrade any of my iPads. Not even my iPad mini despite the new one coming out. So I’ve got designs on the 6 Pro as my tablet. Lol I am that small!

This has been a good launch for Google-plenty of promotion (even some ads here in the UK) so realistically, the phone and the price are the only things Google can dictate-give people a good spec’d phone and price it competitively compared to what else is out there and then see what happens. Anything else after that is down to the consumer.

They will forever get/have a bad rep so nothing can be done about that but there is definitely a need for their phone to be out there.

Got my Spigen Ultra Hybrid Designed for Google Pixel 6 Pro clear case over the weekend.
My S21 Ultra can fit almost perfectly in the case except for the camera bump. So sise wise I am more than good going with the Pro instead of the regular.

I know we've seen this before, but this guy said he reached out to @Target and they said this pricing is real, but not official until after the Google Launch event tomorrow.

If they really sell for those prices, phones will be sold out in minutes and on back-order all winter.
If that price is real I don’t have to wince as I type in my preorder. 😆

If I’m stuck on backorder status all winter, I can live with that. It wouldn’t be the first time a Pixel phone as arrived to me frozen solid in the dead of winter. 😬 I just don’t want to be locked out into the land of complete uncertainty with “Sold Out” statuses.

Love that color.
I like the black trim a lot. That’s one reason I picked the case I did. I do think the regular Pixel Pixel 6 colors are sweet. Very Pixelly.

The 6 Pros are more Samsung-ish on the side trim. But I like them, too. I like the gold trim with the Sunny phone. Fortunately there’s nothing I actively dislike about the aesthetics. I did have time to get used to all of it.

What makes it closer to being confirmed for me is that Brandon Lee from Tech Today, who has leaked a lot with regards to the Pixel thus far, has shown inventory screenshots confirming those prices. Now, could his source have faked those? Sure. But its more evidence that the pricing could be correct.

Honestly I think it would be genius by Google if the prices are right. You immediately undercut your biggest competitors. With these prices, you probably sell out current stock immediately (especially with chip shortages) which always looks good from a PR standpoint. And you get a giant influx of new Pixel adopters that you hopefully can get your hooks in and when you slowly raise prices over the next few years, arent as put off by the sticker shock.

Its smart all around. Because as good as we all know Pixels are, the average joe isnt going to opt for one at the same price as an iPhone or Samsung in most cases. They need to undercut those two and make the Pixel widely available at all major carriers and 3rd party sellers like Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon, etc. Thats when they'll really get some traction.

I know a lot of people dont like the design, but its grown on me. Its something different and the camera bar is kind of a callback to the Nexus 5 that Huawei made which I loved.

My only real gripes are that I dont like the two-tone where the space above the camera bar is a different color. That messes with my OCD a lot. And I dont like that the back/sides are glossy. You would think all the smartphone manufacturers would take note that all reviews rave when the backs/sides finishes are frosted/matte. It not only looks better out of the box, but it looks 1000x better a month down the line since it isnt a fingerprinty mess.

Side note: If the prices are true, I'll probably pickup a Pixel 6 for the wife as well. I was going to get her a 5A, but if I can get an all-around better phone for $150 more I'll definitely do it.

I really hope Google delivery this year and I'll remain cautiously optimistic about these leaks.

But just keep in mind, this is Google. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they somehow end up charging more than the leaks. Maybe they see how the tech world is lit up with how inexpensive the leaks are showing and they say "oh wow, we could get more!". I'm just not confident Google won't mess this up, but I hope this time is different.

I wasn't planning on getting one but I'll get a 6 just to mess around with if the leaks are true.

I think if these leaks are true and the Pixel 6 line is a major awakening of Google and smartphones.

To me the Pixel 6 Pro looks to be THE Android phone of 2021. What other Android phone can even come close to competing with it?

Best in class camera
Stock Android = smoothest fluid UI and the way Android is meant to be
Cool unique design
4 to 5 years of monthly updates.

I wouldn't buy any other Android phone this year, just no point.

To me there's only two samrtphones lines in the tech world now. Apple's iPhone, and Google's Pixel, and that's it. But I'm a [H]ard tech nerd, not the Joe Blow consumer.

I’ve actually kind of banked on that. I had to choose between going Pixel or updating my S21 Ultra. I know Samsung would offer me a great trade in value on my Ultra when the S22 is released. But I don’t want to drop another $400 or whatever on another phone AND drop whatever on the Pixel phone. It had to be one or the other.

I did the 13 Pro upgrade—I will always do the iPhone upgrades unless Apple drastically changes and drives me away. I’m in the ecosystem and that’s that. Apple will be getting my money first unless something drastically changes.

However, I’m also sacrificing the much coveted 13 mini upgrade to do this. And yes that’s based on a medical decision, as well. But if this Pixel performs like Snowball the Pixel 2 did, but has more premium hardware/display/the whole package, then it will be worth it. And a great start on a Pixel upgrade path.

(If they do a good foldable they can win me from Samsung entirely when I’m ready to transition to foldables.)

Unlike a lot of Android fans, I DO like Samsung and One UI. So Google needs to do a bit of work to win me over. Let’s see if this is the year they manage it! 😬

I am not expecting perfection. It’s a new design, new chip, yadda yadda. I know there are going to be some hiccups. But they had better not be stupid ones that could have been avoided with some care and attention to detail. I’m so sick of that sort of thing. iOS 15 has me gritting my teeth a bit. Fortunately they’re shaking the bugs out.

I think Android fans overplay the Samsung UI hate. I remember using TouchWiz back in 2012 and sure it was different but for all the hate Samsung gets for its UI, it's kind of amusing how Microsoft and Apple copied Samsung's idea of "Live Widgets". Live Widgets go as far back as TouchWiz in 2012.

My biggest problem(s) with Samsung and I mentioned this to a Samsung rep at Best Buy a few years ago is the doubling of Apps i.e. Samsung plus Google. I would love to have a Samsung phone running Vanilla Android. They can sell a phone in their lineup with just that feature.

Samsung hardware is premium stuff, always has been.

I love all this optimism and I feel the same way, but be ready for hardware/inventory issues. This is Google we're talking about. They havent released a Pixel yet without major issues and now they're adding a new SoC and will probably have the largest demand they've ever had. Im willing to deal with the growing pains, but I'm also expecting them.

100% agree. It's not TouchWiz anymore I know that. One UI has vastly improved the software for sure. It's the duplicate apps and bloatware that piss me off.

Why are there 2 Calendars or 2 messing apps, etc... Why is there a Direct TV app?

Anyways the Pixel 6 Pro pretty much is what your looking for. It's basically a Samsung designed hardware smartphone with the Samsung made display. And architecture based off their chipsets.

But thank God it runs stock Android. And a really cool version of it on the new 6 line.

The reason for me as to why I won't buy a Samsung or iPhone is the Google Call Screener. That is a freaking game changing feature. Now when I get a call on my business phone, if the Call Screener doesn't pick up which it usually does, I can manually start it. And BAM, if it's legit they'll state why they are calling. If it's a telemarketing/spam call they hang up. Motorola even their budget phones have it because they are essentially running vanilla Android.

Because Samsung doesn't use the Google Phone app, you won't get that feature. When I asked the Samsung rep at Best Buy several years ago about a Vanilla Android phone, he told me, "it'll never happen".

It’s getting closer and closer. We can almost touch it!
That unboxing… love that colour so much. Thatd be my pick if I were going to a regular 6 for sure.

Can’t wait to get my hands on one (hopefully). But who knows how easy / difficult that’ll be!
Like you said in another post.....
Just release the damn thing already! lol 😁
