If it turns out to be November 1st when they are in consumers hands after preorder, or even later next week, I hope we get some YouTuber impressions very soon.
Not that I listen to what any of them actually have to say, but just so I can see some actual close ups of the thing and perhaps some camera samples.
Although they’re all so samey these days. A picture of their Tesla, a building in the distance, their coffee, their food as they eat out and type their review, lol.

I have never been so excited for a phone reveal. The last time was the iPhone XR for that sweet sweet yellow iPhone. And even then the excitement wasn’t this high. :D

I bet we get hands on from reviewers tomorrow after the event is over. My guess is a lot of them have had the device for a week. Otherwise, I would expect by end of the week at the latest.

Edit: I was right. Prosser is saying the current embargo times for the Pixel 6 are tomorrow at 1 et. Only hands on and early impressions. No full reviews or camera samples. Again, this is pretty standard.

John Prosser has tweeted to say there are two embargo’s. One for tomorrow after the event for unboxing and initial impressions. Apparently the tech YT’ers can only show the Home Screen. No camera samples allowed etc.

Then on Monday 25th, reviews can go up.

He has been wrong before, so make of it what you will. But there we go.

What time is the event tomorrow Do you order right after the event.

I wonder what are people thoughts on this? Why limit what a reviewer should cover in a product? If the product isn't ready.. why give it to the reviewer in the first place?

I'm not out to buy a Pixel, but I am a tech enthusiasts... I enjoy new tech product announcements. Situations like this reminds me of Surface Duo and how reviewers could not turn on the device, only discuss the hardware.

It's not about a product being ready or not, it's pretty much the usual embargo most companies have on their unreleased products.

Totally understand that, but I was wondering what are your thoughts on it? There was a hands on about a month or two ago where those who invited could not film the Pixel... they could only discuss their experience with it.

I'm all for companies building hype around their product, but the Pixel 6/6 Pro has been an odd roll out.

Because they want the reviewers to generate buzz for the product, but not kill it do to pre-production software that's still being worked on. Totally normal. I'm fine with it.

I think it's perfectly normal. Why would a company let lots of people make videos of a pre production unit months before it's release?

I’m seeing Google in excludes ?

Excludes: Excludes Apple, Beats Flex, Beats Powerbeats Pro, Beats Studio Buds, Bose, Clearance, DSLR cameras and lenses, Facebook Oculus and Portal, Fitbit, Google, HP, JBL, Legend of Zelda Skyward, LG OLED TVs, Mario Party All Star, Metroid, mobile contracts, Nintendo hardware, No More Heroes, PlayStation consoles and accessories, Preorder, Samsung TVs, Sonos, Sony Electronics, Unlocked phones, Warioware, and Xbox consoles.

I don't care how much Pixels depreciate compared to other phones. It's a phone I want and whatever the price will be worth it to me.
And that’s all that matters.

We live in a world dominated by a desire for many to follow the herd, and it doesn’t matter if that’s Apple or Android.

It’s nice to read of someone buying a device that they want for their reasons and to hell with everyone else’s opinions otherwise.

I may love my Apple devices, but there’s a reason i’m rocking an aging 7+ and a brand new iPad pro 12.9. Both are the devices I want - and need.

Have fun with your Pixel!

I've thinking about pricing and in my opinion those prices are actually fair for the following reasons:

1. Google doesn't have a track record of releasing flagship or multiple phones like Apple and Samsung.
2. Google doesn't have the hardware ecosystem like Apple and Samsung (tablets, watches, computers, TV's).
3. Google doesn't have the support network like Apple and Samsung.
4. Google's new Tensor chip is an unknown quantity at this point.
5. Google releases its phones very late in the year.
6. Because of the above reasons, Google's phones depreciate much faster than Apple or Samsung.

Because of the above reasons, I'm not willing to pay more than US$1,000 for a 256 GB Pixel 6 Pro. Any higher than that and I'll just find a deal on a Samsung S21 Ultra and wait for eSIM implementation with Android 12.
That’s not bad reasoning. I agree in principle. In practice, I’m going to button mash like a mad dog because at this point in time for me personally everything is aligned just right to give it a go and not lose a whole lot for the chance to have a new Pixel in my life again. They have always occupied a rather quirky niche in my life.

Oh goodness I hope you have better luck ordering the Pixel from Target than most of the world did ordering Animal Crossing Sanrio Amibo cards. I didn’t even throw myself into that mess. I just got hold of good cheap “likenesses” from Amazon.

Lots of people? It doesn’t have to be a lot of people.. companies can be selective in how they want to present their device. My thoughts is if it’s pre production, then of course.. it’s not ready for it to be seen to the masses. The idea of you can only show the HomeScreen and not show anything else… such as photos from the camera. I don’t think that’s normal.

I recall Apple announcing some camera feature for the iPhone… no reviewer had a chance to review that feature because Apple didn’t update their firmware to showcase it. However, people had a chance to review the iPhone and acknowledge that feature is coming soon in an update. The point I’m making is… if it’s not ready, don’t allow people to use the device.

And most content creators try to push as much videos/articles of a product in a span of months, they’ll give a month or two month review and later on provide a 6 month review.

You never know unless you try. People have bought things like LG OLED TVs with the 10% off that's suppose to be on the exclusion list.
