I don’t need this phone (have the 13 PM) but really tempted to order the regular 6 as a secondary to mess around with android. I can get the 6 128GB for $560 after tax from target which is tempting.

I really like the smaller form factor of the 6 and flat screen. But I am also used to large hones like my iPhone 12 Pro Max, and currently using my Pixel 4 XL.
We shall see how I like the 6 Pro, if not, a trip to Best Buy and $600 I'll pick up the Pixel 6

Optical scanners are just worse in general. They can be faster because they are less secure. But they work in less conditions than ultrasonic scanners and in the dark that blinding light they need to work is really annoying. But overall, this is a minor complaint.
Ordered the Pixel 6 Pro but wish it had flat sides. I'm definitely over the curved edge rage. Also over 1080p devices and low refresh rates. Had free money from switching to Verizon so all paid as the tax!
My preorder just went from delivery date October 27-29 to November 16-17 did this happen to anyone ?
Hush y’all! You’re making me regret canceling my Seafoam green order! I should have let it arrive then compared it to the Pro and sent it back. Except I don’t want the hassle of a return. But yeah the regular 6’s are more Pixelly looking.
And may I just say how refreshing it is to be here and to “lurk” on Android Central and see men appreciate color and not constantly whine and have tantrums and gender identity crises over the fact that colors other than black and grey exist for technology. My husband only likes black and grey and blue phones, but at least he doesn’t carry on like other colors shouldn’t exist.

I put my P4a 5G up against the iPhone 13PM at BB a couple of weeks ago and the phone sizes overall where almost the same. The iPhone 13PM has a larger screen but the bezels are almost nonexistent. The Pixel 6 Pro with the same size screen will probably be bigger than the iP 13PM

I’ve asked him how the camera is as he’s allowed a play and he’s just said camera is ‘lovely’. Haha. He’s going to try the zoom now.

I would expect a lot of this over the next few days. Its clear something was messed up in their system with regards to scheduling deliveries based on who ordered first. I placed one order that said delivery date of early December. Then I placed the same order an hour later with delivery on release date. So, hopefully they sort it out.
I actually cancelled my pro and sticking with the seafoam 6. For me this will be a backup to my 13 Pro Max so I went with the cheaper option. I love the color and flat screen. If this was going to be main daily driver and only device I'd probably have went with the pro.
I'm SOOO tempted, but I have a Pixel 4a 5G on google Fi. I had considered Pixel Pass but I'm not sure I REALLY need it.
In contemplating this I shopped both the Google store and the Fi page, and they gave me two different trade in values for my current phone, and the Google store offers $100 more!

I still expect more from Google in this regard, But hopefully as they move to their own silicon (like Apple), they can continue to extend the life of these phones.
I just got a security update from Apple on my iPhone 6 (yes I still have one active in my collection), that is a 7 year old device. The 6S still gets full updates. That is a really high bar for the entire Android world, but I think Google can cut into that lead.
I went regular 6 for size, budget, and my use case.
I strongly dislike the feature division between the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 pro, with the best cameras / features only going into the Pro (larger phone). It is a step backwards from a company that had a history of putting the best cameras in both sizes, and all features in both phones. This kinda feels like the iPhone 7 / iPhone 7 Plus feature split.
That said, I rarely use full telephoto zoom on any of my devices, and besides the 120hz screen, that was really the only other compelling feature that would make me go pro. Funny as my first iPhone with a zoom lens (iPhone X), really never saw me using telephoto after the newness wore off on that feature.
But I am not a normal user, I tend to have a Mirrorless / SLR with me always, and a 70-200 lens in the bag too. 😂
6 Pro. Larger display with 120hz and higher resolution. Telephoto camera. Slightly larger battery and more RAM. I do wish it had the flat screen like the regular Pixel but the curve isn't a deal breaker for me. Still have the 13 PM which covers that form factor for me.
I probably should not have, but I bought another case. Now that I know I am getting the Stormy Pro I wanted to get a nice full case in black for it. Lol had I gotten white or Sunny I would have felt obliged to use a clear or partially clear case to show off the color. But now I can put the focus on going with deep black cases. So I got the Spigen Rugged Armor. It’s got some texture detailing and a silhouette I liked. I just don’t like the Spigen name on there so ostentatiously. But it will do. My husband will get the Air Armor.
I would have tried a Google case if I had gotten Seafoam green. Or the white phone. But I’m not sure how protective it is. I’m going to wait to see people’s impressions of it. Aesthetically it’s okay I guess. It’s hard to say based on photos. I don’t know how well white or green Google cases would work on a Stormy phone.
I guess it’s okay to get a glass screen protector with an optical finger print scanner? Does anyone know? I know that’s a no go with the Samsung ultrasonic reader. But I don’t know much about optical ones. I haven’t ordered any yet until I find out.
Lol I feel almost hungover. I was using every phone I own yesterday. I had 2 minis going. The S21 Ultra was playing the Google presentation. I was trying to buy the phone on my 13 Pro. I was texting my husband on the green 12 mini. I was posting to the forum on the purple 12 mini.
I had to take Tylenol and advil for the pwm migraine I got. It’s not helping much. But I sure did have fun anyway. It was a bit like a party yesterday. I had fun with you all and it made the aggravating parts bearable and even funny at times. Thank you all for that.

Just so I can have a pair to use exclusively with my Pixel. Really annoying putting my AirPods in when wanting to listen to music on my phone and they automatically pair with my iPad every time.
Also, with the free Bose headphone perk here in the UK, I should be able to make that £99 back and them some.

Oddly I have gotten used to / muscle memory to swipe down and connect to my AirPods from the BT control menu. That said, auto-connection would be super nice / handy. It sucks that I have been spoiled by the (mostly working) AirPods ability to follow me to whatever device I am working with.
No go for me. They said to cancel my order and place it again when the buds are in stock.
Anyone getting the regular 6 should only get the Seafoam or Coral versions at this point!
