Mine has arrived but dunno think I may return it and get the s21 ultra again until the issues are sorted with android 12, battery life and the camera fixes

Curious, what issues are you talking about? The camera is excellent and should only get better. No worries there.

Battery life is odd. I hear some people having excellent battery life and some bad. I'm only on day 2 so I can't judge yet.

Android 12 has been great so far. No bugs and smooth as hell.

I have the S21 Ultra and just got the Pixel 6 last night and have the 6 pro coming 11/12.
I would not compare the S21U to anything other than the 6 Pro.

I love my s21U but the stutter speed on the camera is slow. Which means moving objects come out blurry. This is not new as this has plagued Samsung for years.
Shutter speed is not an issue on my 13PM or Pixel 4XL or Pixel 6.

But all that aside. I really enjoy the Pixel experience. There is nothing like in IMHO. You just can't beat the overall smoothness of Android on a Pixel. The notifications and how they are displayed is elegant and useful. AOD is very useful to me. Then there is the music feature that shows the current song playing in the background feature on the lock screen.
So many little nuances that make the Pixel a great overall user experience.

You can problem chime in on this too then, what are your thoughts on the fingerprint scanner coming from the S21 Ultra?

I still think the scanner is bad, but I've started pressing a little harder and it's working noticeably better. On the S21 Ultra, I just have to lightly tap the scanner area and it works 99% of the time. On the P6, I have to press harder and hold for a second. It's just long enough to be annoying.

Got to play with the OnePlus (forget which one) and I knew then I didn't like that style of FP sensor. I am not looking forward to the in screen unit on the Pixel 6. Honestly, The back sensor was PERFECT for me. I used it to swipe down for notifications and any phone that doesn't have this, feels like it is missing a control I really enjoy using.

To this day I sometimes pet the back of my iPhones to try and bring down notifications.

Manufacturing and product back-orders and delays is a NIGHTMARE. My business, we supply materials to high end custom luxury home builders. Orders that always took approx. 4 weeks in the past now, take 4+ months !!! And pricing has shot up from vendors on materials. It's a HUGE problem, and said to not be getting better any time soon, but expected to get worse still. Even longer delays coming, and even higher costs.

I was toying with the idea of trading in my iPhone 12 Pro Max for a 13 Pro Max, but those 13PM's are like never in stock anywhere, and looking on T-Mobile's website or BestBuy they are always on back order. Is the 13 Pro Max just basically sold out and not available anywhere due to parts shortages?

Yeah I downloaded GBoard on my iPhone but I was so inaccurate with it. I couldn't adjust.
I think the iPhone keyboard is the best out there, so with added haptics it'd be incredible.

I love GBoard, installed it on my 12 Pro Max and it looks and feels great, but for some reason it just didn't type right for me, always errors. So I went back to the Apple keyboard and it worked much better, more accurate, but it needs haptic vibration.

^^^^THIS user experience …top level

Voice dictation is crazy good …

I'm going to say now, the Pixel 7 Pro will be to the 6 Pro, what the iPhone 13 Pro is to the 12 Pro, if you get what I'm saying.

Last year's iPhone 12 Pro, actually got knocked for having just ok battery life, not bad, but not great. And the camera and photos it took were good, but not amazing. It was the new design, the old school iPhone 4 throwback style and FLAT screen that wow'd everyone. Along comes the 13 Pro this year, and it's battery life is vastly better than the 12 Pro's, and the cameras massively upgraded, taking great photos.

I see Google doing the same with the Pixel 7 Pro, much better battery life with Tensor 2 and maybe bump it up to a 5,500Mah battery, and with software fixes and camera tweaks the photos and videos will be improved.

This is Google we’re dealing with. You’re way more optimistic than me. Lol. I’m surprised they even take their smartphone line serious.

In my use today with the phone, the fingerprint sensor is extremely accurate. Anyone who used a Sony Xperia will know what an inaccurate sensor is... 😁

This takes a split second to unlock and you need to hold your finger on it for a second. That's it. And that's the crux of this 'complaint' from MKBHD. It takes longer. Well longer is prob half a second Vs the S21 Ultra, which costs hundreds more. Even he said that too, you're talking £300 more nearly. Unless you are coming from an S21 Ultra, you're probably gonna be fine with this.

My experience may differ than most because I'm coming directly from arguably the best in-display FP sensor which is the one on the S21 Ultra. For people new to in display readers or coming from another optical like on a OnePlus, this will feel fine.

However, I have heard a lot of issues with people using tempered glass screen protectors and the FP sensor not working. I put a protector on my wifes Pixel 6 and she'll be setting it up tonight. It'll be interesting to see how it works.

Tig, my 12 Pro Max had a wonky display so that’s part of why I decided to get the 13 Pro. That and I wanted to try a smaller Pro one more time. But the 12 Pro camera was really good. I don’t think you’re missing out at all now that I and my husband have had the 13 Pro/Pro Max awhile. I know you might want Pro Motion or something new like macro mode that the 13’s offer. And that’s fine. Just don’t feel you’re missing anything earth shattering. If my 12 Pro Max hadn’t had problems delivering dark images properly in a dim room, I’d be kicking myself so hard right now for trading it away. As it is, I’m just neutral on how things turned out.

And yeah we need some home improvements and before we delayed due to a prolonged illness and death in the family. Then due to Covid. Now we have to delay because a contractor friend says it’s a bad time and hard to adhere to a schedule, logistics nightmares abound. I’m amazed there are any new products launching now at all.
