But if that were the case then the price on the budget Pixel would increase because the price difference between the iPhone Pro and the Pro Max is $100. The Pixel 6 and 7 is Google's way of saying, hey buy our mid-range/flagship phone for $300 less than our Pro. I can definitely see Google's marketing if that's what they are trying to do.

When you are Apple, they can pretty much do what you want and people will still buy their phones.

Personally I would put the a series of the Pixel line as the "budget" phone.

The Pixel 7 Pro should be the top dog #1 best of the best
The Pixel 7 should also be right up there too with the Pro, high end specs just smaller
The Pixel 7a should be the affordable budget friendly

Well, pulled the trigger on a 7 Pro in snow color. No plans to keep it though—it would be my choice of Android phone but I learned a while back I’m just not a ‘carry two phones’ guy. The trade in value on my old Pixel 4 XL and $200 store credit made it worthwhile to buy and flip it.

Probably see a set of Buds in my near future. ;)

Completely agree with you, also the regular pixel 7 should be smaller, the 7 pro and the pixel 7 are too similar in size, I want a smaller phone but with top specs

Agreed, when you put them side by side, the Pixel 6 Pro really isn't that much larger than the Pixel 6, fairly close in size, but the Pixel 5 is immediately noticeably smaller and comfortable to use 1 handed.

Someone else made the comment, even the regular Pixel 6 is still a two hand phone to some degree, it not a one hander like a Pixel 5. So the point was just get the Pro, it's so similar in size.

But man I wish the regular Pixel 7 had the 120hz display, and 12GB RAM, same camera, and great haptics like the Pro, and still stuff in the 5,000mAh battery :)

How do you set that? I don't see that option in my settings. It just always has done that but it looks like it is taking up storage to me. Shows .91 GB in my settings > storage.

Regardless, I still have 53 GB left of 128 and I have 5.2 GB of music saved on it for when my signal isn't good for streaming.
Settings with Google photos, then backup and sync and then make sure it’s checked to backup. Then you get the option once backed up to remove the pictures from the device itself. Hope this makes sense!

I think google really wants the pro to look “pro” I’d bite the bullet and go for it, since like you mentioned is not that much bigger than the pixel 7, but the cueved edges are a complete deal breaker for me, such a gimmick that ruins with the screen with color shifting and shadows :/

I played with the phones again today and I have to say the pixel 7 screen looks improved over last years pixel 6.. just my untrained eye ... I really think if the bugs are minimal this is going to be a hell of a phone for most people definitely much easier to carry around

I ended up going with the Hazel P7P. And, it was mainly because it’s hard for me to go back to a phone that isn’t 120Hz.

I’ll be rocking these combos:

iPhone 14 Pro Max
Series 7 SS

Pixel 7 Pro
Google Watch

Since I only have one number, I’ll likely switch eSim/devices every month until the new models come out next year.

Had a couple devices I bought elsewhere from Google and they had issues, when I contacted Google about them I basically got, "not our problem"

I'd probably be more inclined to just order from Google. If I order that is.
Pixel support can be tricky if you do not buy directly from Google. Granted they'll eventually provide support, but it's guaranteed to be unpleasant.

Still in two minds what to do about pixel Watch. I get it free but I don’t think I would have a case for it as my ultra is on me at all times.

My preference would be to get pixel buds pro free instead but not sure will be able to do that.

I'll trade you my brand new Buds Pro for the Watch :)

The first of the deliveries has arrived!

Nipped into EE (shudder) and had a look at the Pixels. Typically, they were bolstered down so I couldn’t even pick one up.
The phones look great. I almost mistook the Pro for the regular 7 as the curve is definitely less pronounced now than the 6. It also feels like there’s more of a flat ‘side’ rather than a total curve which is how the 6 Pro felt.

Couldn’t do anything else with it and it had the awful display software running, so will reserve judgement until I get mine.

The Watch was also there. Again, bolstered down so couldn’t pick up. Looked nice enough!

Roll on Thursday.

If brightness is important then that is something to consider as the 7 Pro has 1500 nits peak brightness vs 800 nits peak brightness for the 6 Pro. The FPS is newer so hopefully it will be faster, more accurate and consistent.

Blimey. That’s a jump. I’ll admit, I’ve been really impressed with the 14 PM in sunlight. Best phone I’ve ever used outdoors.
I’m sure the 7 Pro won’t come close still, but that’s a big improvement regardless.

I'm really happy to see how active this thread has become, the pixel 7 and 7 pro it have got some people interested :) Can't wait for tomorrow's review embargo to be lifted, I wanna see some good reviews of the phone, specially I want to know how much better the pixel 7 display is, the one on the 6 was BAD.

These are just teasers and impressions by Marques and two others as they try to avoid not complying with their NDA. There are some revealing info which confirms things we are beginning to hear about. It does sound pretty good.

They'd great news, as the Pixels have historically been dim not bright displays.
