Typically the answer is NO but it's worth a try. Most retailers won't let you use a gift card or store balance on a previous purchase or to pay off an existing balance. It is usually to buy something else in the store. Again it's worth having a chat or calling the store to get an answer.

I understand. Yeah it's no big deal if they take it or not for the phone, but more saying what a smoking deal that would be for the 7 Pro, $545 off for the phone + $200 off with a gift card, that'd be $745 towards the new phone.

But they probably not doing that.

I’d even argue the 6 non pro looks more premium then the 7 non pro. I don’t know..maybe it’s the aluminum camera bar on the 7 that makes its look more muted and tbh..of lesser quality but this is subjective.I still have yet to see the phones in person.

As for the pro models, I was sold on the hazel and gold combo based off the official photos but in real life, the camera bar seems heavy on the shininess’s. All design approach of course which makes the 6 and 7 series phones stand out more compared to 5, 4, 3 and 2 series pixels. I think I’ll pivot to Obsidian this year though.
I agree the camera bar on p7 doesn't look as good as p6 but I could get use to it. I feel they should have made it black instead

Hec I think getting $545 for the P6P at Best Buy is really good. Google store it's $480.

How r u guys getting the trade in screen on the Google products website?
When you pick which phone you want and then the unlocked phone, you just go down and pick the features you want, color, GB ,etc.
Then there is a part that says get trade in info and you click that where it says get up to $750 value, and from there it asks what you have , etc and gives you the value.

I personally hate skins, but DBrand will likely accommodate a black skin for the camera bar!

to all the pixel experts out there does using google photos mean those photos won't take up your main storage space? as most of my storage would be photos. I ordered 128GB so wondering if this will be enough.

for some reason i can't remember if the smart switch app works like it does on samsung guessing it does?

Yeah it won’t take phone storage if you set Google Photots to backup to the cloud. 128gb should be fine 👍

So my DPD notification yesterday appears to be something of nothing 🙄.
It just shows as them having my parcel, but it hasn’t moved on from that status. It originally said delivery would be today, but it looks like this is just Google’s version of “preparing to dispatch” and they’ve likely sent them to couriers ready.

The phone and watch still show as “prepared to dispatch” on my order screen 👍🏻.

Yeah I had the exact same thing. Message on Friday to say it would be here Monday. And now nothing apart from DPD saying they have received details for the order but not the device yet. Had my hopes up!

I thought it may have been the trade in bag. As apparently it’s a box and a bag hence it coming via courier. But apparently the trade in bag / box follows your phone order.

Still, it’s only 3 more days to go!!

How do you set that? I don't see that option in my settings. It just always has done that but it looks like it is taking up storage to me. Shows .91 GB in my settings > storage.

Regardless, I still have 53 GB left of 128 and I have 5.2 GB of music saved on it for when my signal isn't good for streaming.

Hmm, never heard of this. Did this start within the last year? Seems a real bummer for the multi phone enthusiasts like yourself.
Having difficulty switching among different OLEDs was always something I noticed but seemed to hit me seriously last year with the 13 Pro being the catalyst. It’s now my 14 Pro Max doing the same, except this time I can use the 14 Pro Max. Last year the 13 Pro Max turned out to be behind a headache that wouldn’t go away. And it rendered me unable to ever be able to use my 12 mini again. But on 13 Pro, I was at least able to use my Android OLEDs. That doesn’t seem to be the case for me while on the 14 Pro Max right now.

iPhone LCD has not been great for me either. For the last year, while using my iPhone 11 and SE3, I was essentially losing the vision in my left eye to a growing flickering white “curtain” at the extreme left side of my left eye. That has almost completely stopped and dramatically receded when I got my 14 Pro Max.

I first got this flicker a couple of years ago using the Nintendo Switch and later, my SE2. It went away when I went to iPhone 12 mini and 12 Pro Max and 13 Pro. Came back when I gave up 13 Pro and went to the 11 and SE3.

So now I know LCD is the culprit. My opthamologist did two very intensive exams and can’t find an ocular problem so it’s got to be neurological.

I’m thinking temporal dithering may be the cause for that, but that’s just a guess and I don’t know why only one eye is affected. I will be seeing a neurologist about it but I’m having trouble with appointment availability and my schedule. I’m just glad I’ve invested in 1 TB of storage on this 14 Pro Max and got this awesome purple, because I may be on it awhile.

As for iOS glitches, they’re not horrible. Every now and again there’s something that pops up.

Was it as bad as these pictures?

Oh jeez I had no idea! I’m glad I canceled my order for two Google cases last year. They weren’t cheap! I’m still using Spigen and Ringke on mine.

I had the best luck with Google fabric cases. I’ve been looking for something similar for every other phone I own. I know those fabric cases weren’t popular here. But I liked mine so much.

Has anyone ever used a Later Case?

They’re the closest thing I’ve ever seen to what I liked about Pixel cases. They’re carbon fiber, I believe. Their Pixel ones look good. Too bad the special edition colors don’t extend to the newest phones.

Google photos takes up space on your device unless you delete them from the device manually you just have to make sure all the pictures backed up in Google photos..

I also have them automatically saved on Amazon Photos so I could delete them. But I have enough space in my phone. I got apps that are taking up more space.

I do the same thing I really don’t need to clean them up with enough space on the 128GP storage

I have also ordered the Pixel 7 by trading in my Pixel 6. I won’t keep the 7, will sell as soon as it’s received but I will get more back than what it’s ultimately costing me. Plus I will get the Watch, Buds Pro and Pixel 7 Pro together.

The £150 google credit I will use towards Watch bands I think, should I like wearing the Watch and find it useful. Failing that, could go for a nest doorbell or thermostat!

Bit of a faff having to sell the 7, but I was at a loss with what to do with my cracked screen 6, as it wasn’t worth anything on eBay or anywhere else so pretty good to get £150 for it.

I went by BB to check them out. 7 Pro looked great, but I much preferred the matte on the aluminum of the regular 7. Unfortunately, the 7 wouldn’t power on and when I picked it up, it set off the store alarm. Lol. But, the size and build quality seemed great.

They had the watch out too. It seemed responsive and the display was nice. I can’t help but think the display is too small though. But, it did have swipe typing in messages and that worked well. I think Apple only does that on the 7 and up, but not the SE.

I’ll have to go back another day to see the display quality on the regular 7.

I agree the 7 and even the 6 looked nicer, as far as design and finish and FLAT screen. I love the matte finish, and the cool no gloss colors on them, and no shiny frame. But I put a case on my phones, so the color and frame are never noticed.

But...I don't know why Google gimps the smaller phone still? Do what Apple does, they have the 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, both share the exact same hardware, except the battery obviously due to the size.

Last year I had both the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, and the 6 Pro clearly felt like the more premium phone;

- Haptics and vibration were way better on the 6 Pro
- 120hz LTPO is just a smoother operating looking screen than the 90hz
- Camera of course is a bit better on the Pro
- 12GB vs 8GB RAM
- For some reason using the 6 Pro in hand, just felt more premium than the Pixel 6

Yep agreed with you both. Hardware wise, the 6 was nicer (unless you like bigger phones), and I imagine it’ll be the same with the 7.
I also think Lemon Grass -> Hazel. But we move.

If it weren’t for the lack of telephoto, I’d be all in on the reg 7.

You could have got the screen fixed for $100 to $150 and then traded it in for $480

But if that were the case then the price on the budget Pixel would increase because the price difference between the iPhone Pro and the Pro Max is $100. The Pixel 6 and 7 is Google's way of saying, hey buy our mid-range/flagship phone for $300 less than our Pro. I can definitely see Google's marketing if that's what they are trying to do.

When you are Apple, they can pretty much do what you want and people will still buy their phones.
