Having an esim as the only option frankly infuriates me. I have more than one iphone and I miss being able to just switch the sim card between them. I suppose there's now a software based way to do the switching. But I don't want to do anything that involves AT&T taking notice that I'm switching among phones.Agree 100% on the 14PM being the buggiest iPhone. Its actually the buggiest phone I have at the moment. Thinking about finding me a 13PM as the esim crap also annoys the hell out of me.
My husband says switching between an iphone and an Android phone would be a more complicated matter now. I'm sure Apple is just so pleased about that little "side effect.". I'm so sick of Apple removing features bit by bit and then Android phones following suit. I hope Google and Samsung don't take away physical sims, next.
A current flagship phone looks so stripped down and featureless compared to phones from just a few years ago.
Pay more and get less seems to be how everything works anymore. Edit: yeah yeah I know, the cameras are amazing now and I must concede satellite connectivity is cool. But can't we have cameras AND a Sim card slot. I would also like my headphone/aux jack back.
Grumpy old person rant:
Lol I remember when mail got delivered to a mailbox on your house or property. When my husband and I were looking to buy a house, we skipped so many beautiful newer houses because we'd have to walk a pretty good distance to fetch our mail from this big communal cluster of boxes. That's fine in good weather, but sucks at any other time and we figured it would not be something we wanted to deal with in old age. And who really wants to drive to their mailbox, either? So we bought the older house we have now with the mailbox at the end of the driveway. Lol, yeah it came down to something so small and petty having a profound influence on our decision. But it's been death by a thousand cuts watching services fall while prices rise over our lifetimes.
My dad tells me doctors used to make housecalls. I don't remember that, but I at least remember being able to get a doctor appointment when I was sick. It's too long of a story for here, but trust me when I say it's not uncommon for me to heal up from whatever is ailing me by the time I can actually get in to see a doctor in person.
I'm not someone who views the past through nostalgia glasses, but I have to say I have been noting an uncomfortable trend over the course of my life.
