I have the same screen protector installed and generally don't have any issues. However there have been a few times on various websites where I press a link or try to scroll and the screen is unresponsive. It seems to be an issue with Chrome.

It doesn't seem to happen anywhere else. I have tried restarting the phone and still have the same issue? But it doesn't happen very often.

I hope you can find a solution.
Solution is John Lewis are swapping it out for me. Sadly they don;t have the black one, so swapping for a white one. Google wanted the device back, and said 5-10 day turn around, John Lewis are sending replacement to local Waitrose to do an exchange. I got £100 off which has now ended otherwise I'd refund and reorder elsewhere.

Annoying but there's worse things going on in the world.

Customer service is one area Google can not compete at all with Apple. Getting issues fixed and actually being able to talk to an actual human is something Google desperately needs to fix if it ever wants to compete head to head with Apple. 5-10 days is just plain unacceptable.

I agree. Having a Google store for Google Pixel products would be a good idea if Google is really serious about being a strong competitor to Apple and Samsung.

They could even do like a store in a store using Best buy or another retailer.

They need to change their customer support to actually having live agents that are friendly and knowledgeable. And answers should not be emailed to you later by a supervisor.

Repairs should have free one day shipping to repair and back.

Right now the service is seriously lacking.

Apple customer service is fast, generally helpful. If you need an exchange of a product you can do that in a store without waiting. You can even get some repairs done in an Apple store.

I’m surprised John Lewis have been so accommodating. My experience with them when I had a faulty Pixel 3 was utterly dreadful. Glad yours is being sorted!

The problem is, Apple and Samsung sell other products, not just phones. They can justify a full store. But Google isn't really a hardware company. A store that just sells Pixel phone and accessories wouldn't be viable in the long run.

Well they sell phones, a watch, a tablet coming this year, a bunch of other stuff as well. I understand your point which is why I said a store within a store for now. Like a Google section in Bestbuy with google representatives and possible limited hardware repair.

I'm still within the return window to be honest, and I've always found em helpful and friendly. It also helped I saved the chat transcript from google where they said they would replace, but leave me phoneless for up to 2 weeks

seeing a few people mention problems when they have screen protectors on.. just wondering do most people run without one then? or is there a recommendation for a protector that seems to work just fine on the 7 pro?

Nest cams, Nest/google home, nest, chromecast/google tv, chromebooks, pixel watch, google wifi or whatever they call their mesh wifi devices, Pixel, Tablet. They actually have quite the ecosystem if they care to really get behind marketing it strongly to consumers.

The Whitestone Dome Glass has been flawless for me. Works great with the under display fingerprint sensor for me. My P7P took a nasty drop out of my truck the other day and the screen protector did its job and protected the screen but was a casualty in the process. Luckily the screen protector comes in a two pack and I was able to apply a new one that evening.

I've been using a film protector since the first day just to keep the micro scratches off the screen. Obviously if I drop it it will probably not do as well as that white dome

Yea probably not. I've tried the films, I just don't like it as much as the all natural naked feel. The dome glass feels like the real thing.

I've thought about picking up the White dome as it's awhile since I've installed one and always loved them

Agree with your thought. If they want to go full blown ecosystem, they are there.
I still believe Google is not in the game for the sales number or grabbing user pools but they just keep honing on experience and software by data mining. All hardware are just pawn in the play as they prove time and time again by dropping great hardware projects.
They don't bother about customer care too hence my conclusion reached as they are not in the game for market dominance. Still in R&D mindset to grab all data and move on to next generation idea.

It took two phone calls and two chat sessions with Verizon to switch my e-sim from iPhone 14PM to Pixel 7. The first rep sent me an iPhone e-sim that of course wouldn't activate with the Pixel. It was such a headache. Switching back to my iPhone from the Pixel was easily accomplished online and took 5 minutes.

Anyway, can anyone recommend a better password manager than LastPass? It works flawlessly on my iPhone but with the Pixel it has been a pain. Sometimes it'll auto start when I power on the phone, other times I have to manually open it. I had to remove and reinstall the app a couple times because the autofill option would not stay on for some reason. It also seems like I am logging into LP much more frequently than on iOS. I'd love something that works as well with Android as it does with iOS.

All tech companies are now in the same business, don't fool yourself.

Obviously there are differences and some are better than others for now but even Apple is incorporating ads and tracks users in the App store. Apple is selling more and more services beyond hardware because of recurring revenue streams.

Like Apple Google is changing and just now starting to realize that providing it's own hardware is better for their business model. They also have a vested interest in keeping people connected to their services which they can do better with their own hardware. They most likely will start supporting their hardware longer to keep users connected to their services.

It doesn't matter to Google if you use a Pixel Phone, watch, or tablet but if they provide the hardware they don't have to deal with competing services like Samsung. But you can be sure they are waking up to the fact that hardware makes a difference and if they can dominate the space they will make more money on the hardware and their services.

The difference with Google is that profit on the hardware alone is not their priority. They can cut margins more than anyone else because they know they will make up for it in the services.

If all hardware was just a pawn as you say and move on to the next generation then why would they start making their own Tensor chips? It would be a lot easier and cheaper to just slap a mediatek chip in there and call it a day but maybe they want to improve user experience and be able to deploy a chip to multiple devices? Only reason to do that is to make better hardware.

I agree Google has a long history of abandoning projects but so does Microsoft. I think they are getting serious and hopefully will reverse the trend they have set too many times.

I have a whitedome and it is great but I had a hard time installing without bubbles. I killed one screen protector and the second one is okay but it started to come up on the corner and there are a few very small dots under the protector.

It costs $14.99 for "shipping" to get a replacement. As much as these cost the replacement should be free or a nominal charge of like $5-8 not $15.

All that being said it does work very well and offers decent protection. Curved screens are just a pain when it comes to screen protector.

I use Roboform Everywhere. The Everywhere version (paid, but not super expensive - a 1 year plan is less than $2/month) syncs across devices, I have mine syncing across Android, Windows and macOS.

They also have a referral program where a longer-term plan (1 year or more) gets us both 6 months free.

Is it true that being a Google One member helps a great deal in terms of getting a Pixel phone repaired or serviced? I felt like I read that on Reddit.

As a potential Pixel Fold buyer, my only desire would be the opportunity to service my device (if needed) at my local ubreakifix store. One of the best things about the iPhone is that I can always have it looked at locally at the Apple store.
