iPhones and MBPs are pretty different considerations. MBPs use several terraced batteries, for example, and are just much much higher wattage. My iPhone 13 Pro is still showing 100% capacity; and I got it on launch day. Do you use your MBP largely off charger and run it down frequently?
what's the bottom line here? should we go buy new MacBooks every year? what's the point of all this?
this thread makes me think at 94% after one year, I should sell my MacBook Pro get a new one.I usually keep them for a decade and replace the battery once. My 2014 and 2015 MacBook Pros are still going strong.

I have a M1 16 inch MacBook Pro. How many days does it take? I dont like a hassle. It would be easier to just replace the battery. They charged $200 for the older models and you got a topcase, keycaps replacements. If they only need to replace the batteries on the new ones and replacement is easier, they might charge less.

What? Maybe I need to buy another MacBook.Had mine since early February, I'm at 100%
Aaannnd not for the first time... Is that in Coconut Battery, or System Preferences/Settings? As mentioned a fair few times now, Apple lies about the battery health.Had mine since early February, I'm at 100%

Here's my system showing the Settings app alongside Coconut Battery, which reads from the hardware.

if my MacBook Pro 16 inch m1 is at 94% how much longer until I drop below 90%? I refuse to have a notebook with battery health in the 80%s.
Note though, that in order to get a battery replacement done, your battery health (using Apple’s diagnostics, not Coconut Battery) has to be <80%. Otherwise, they won’t do it, even though you’re paying for it. Mostly because the cost to them is quite significant given all the other items (topcase) that end up getting replaced when getting a new battery. It would be easier to just replace the battery. As @pshufd mentioned, it depends on the Apple Store, how big it is and whether they do MBP battery repairs on-site (and have in stock) or not / off-site. I did once for my older 2016 13” MBP, and also last year for my wife’s 2014 15” MBP (was showing 75% Battery Health and giving system notification to have battery replaced). Each time, I dropped mine off on Thurs afternoon, and got it back on the weekend (Sat or Sun).I have a M1 16 inch MacBook Pro. How many days does it take? I dont like a hassle.
Sounds like I need a second Mac? Might look into m2 air as a second machine.Note though, that in order to get a battery replacement done, your battery health (using Apple’s diagnostics, not Coconut Battery) has to be <80%. MBP 14 bought shortly after launch. I am also not that happy about the fast degradation. My previous MBP 16 2019 battery was holding up much better. Tbf the battery capacity of the MPB 16 was bigger, so it wouldn't build up the same amount of cycles in the same time, but still a bit disappointing.

Hatte ich auch schon überlegt. Hab zum Glück AppleCare+...Heftig. Die Abnutzung Ihres Geräts innerhalb dieser kurzen Zeit sieht ungesund aus. Vielleicht Apple kontaktieren?
I‘m also concerned with how my 14 is doing, but not as bad as in your case 😳
My battery reading is now saying it has been charged to 100% even though I have "optimized battery charging on" and have unplugged the charging cable like 3x since I bought my MBP a month ago.
It was kept at 77-80% steadily for several weeks, any idea what could have happened?
Is this true in Ventura? I can’t find this just an optimize button and my mbp charges all the way to 100%If it's plugged in most of the time, then it will only charge up to 80%. That's to increase the longevity of the battery. If you add the battery icon to the menubar, then you can click it and tell it to charge to 100% on demand. Completely normal starting in Monterey I think.
