Not sure......I don't have all the inside information he does for sure. I am sure they had contingent Plan B (C and D and E) meetings for just this type of scenario. They will still do well in their biggest home market China. Google services are blocked there by the Chinese government anyway. What would you do if you were Huawei's president?
Disagree. Protectionism is going after Samsung for no reason. Huawei is a bit player in North America.Yes, this stinks of protectionism.
I think Samsung went through something similar a few years ago. They had a rift with Google and touted their own Tizen OS and tried to get app developers on board to port apps over to it. They found the dev community to be very slow and unwilling to make the effort to change all of their apps for one company. How hard is it for Huawei to come up with its own eco system? They are multi billion company anything is possible i guess.
In China? Not hard. But Google owns the rest of the world, really. Good luck selling a completely Chinese built operating system without any Facebook owned properties or Google Play services applications anywhere in the world but China. How hard is it for Huawei to come up with its own eco system? What does this all mean for the Mate X?

Google cutting Huawei adrift affects Huwaei's participation in the entire western world.Disagree. Protectionism is going after Samsung for no reason. Huawei is a bit player in North America.
Also, the ban in the US is mostly due to Huawei's 5G hardware, not handsets. Handsets are just an unfortunate side effect.
It also severely limits Google's ability to track Huawei devices if they can't use Google.Google cutting Huawei adrift affects Huwaei's participation in the entire western world.

LG is Korean. Also, Huawei is fairly unique as being deeply tied to the Chinese government.Had to laugh at the outrageous headline.

A company culture of stealing from other companies and releasing products that were almost the same.
A culture around having relatives and employees going to work for rivals for the sole purpose of stealing company secrets.
