While it wasn't a purchase, I DO plan on dumping some money into it. A customer came into our store looking to trade his Macbook Pro in for a new one. Unfortunately, it has a cracked glass panel over the display, and we can't do a trade in on a broken computer. He asked "Well could you guys recycle it? Or do you want it?". Normally I wouldn't take a computer from a customer, but this thing is nearly flawless. I can get a replacement glass panel for $100 and have the piece installed is free, since I work for a company with a service depot
It's far from the most powerful computer out there, but it's more than functional! Specs are:
2.53GHz Core 2 Duo
4GB DDR3-1067 RAM (upgrading to 8GB next month for fun)
250GB 5400RPM HDD (might give it a 60GB/120GB SSD + 1TB storage drive next month as well)
Nvidia GeForce 9400m. Not an amazing card, but it gets the job done for what I want to do on it!)
It barely has any signs of wear and tear on it except for the very few minor marks around the edges. It's mainly going to be used as my everyday "Facebook/iTunes/email/movies" computer, and it will do that very well
Plus it was free, so WOOHOO! But one thing I refused to do: Sell it. I was given it for free on good faith. I don't want to try and profit off of it. I could easily get a few hundred dollars for it, but that's not right. Karma will come back an bite me for that.
