How are you finding RAM usage? Pretty much the same as Mavericks?
It's the same as Mavericks no difference

The battery icon is radioactive green when a laptop is on charge and turns to black when a laptop is on battery power? Or have you found the hidden 'decontamination' settings?

Ah right, I've not made it that far yet myselfits black when discharging like on iOS 7/8

Seems a strange behaviour to me. I'd have thought 'black whilst on mains' and 'green/amber/red whilst on battery' made more sense.
This was probably debated at inordinate length when iOS7 was first released, of course...
Thanks. So no real changes there, except that App icons are removed in Mission Control, and that Dashboard appear to be missing? Such a pity, I use it every day..
Can the menu bar be made opaque?
Never was a fan of the translucent menu bar... I find it distracting.
Oh, nice. You can change overall transparency in Accessibility > Display. Not sure about menu bar only, though.
Oh, nice.
I'm wondering what MS Office looks like under Yosemite.
It's the same as in Mavericks and other versions. System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver has the option to enable or disable the translucent menu bar.Can the menu bar be made opaque?

Just got it up and working on a clean partition
Still same crappy drive icons from 2000 thousand years ago? Jesus ...
Yea I know. I was thinking the same thing. Seems severely outdated considering Macs are moving onto flash drives and SSD blades.
Well, they use a couple of custom control elements. I'm wondering how much they stand out from the surrounding new UI design. Same goes for other programs, too, like Firefox. What do you want to see? The windows maintain the Yosemite flatness, but there is no transparency.
I wasn't expecting VLC to have the transparency:
