Fighting or playing? Or both?

The catnip struck me as having been consumed (mostly by Puma) from quite early on in the video.

Anyway, an excellent example of a competition between young energy versus mature experience......
I like to call it play-fighting myself. They're not actually intent on doing serious harm to one another, but do compete fiercely at times. Other times they're very friendly and will sleep side by side and groom one another.

I do not have a pet, so far, however I have just stumbled upon this on Polish twitter.

And the Tweet: This is how he reacted after leaving the shelter with new family. Its worth to adopt, worth it completely!

I really don't like to interrupt the emotion of pity and beauty this picture suggests, but...

Dogs don't cry because they are sad. When fluid comes out of the eye is called Epiphora and means the dog should be checked in his eyes.

Unromantic and a total buzkill I know...

How often do you give them catnip?

And - how old is Cassini? I ask simply because I have read that young cats - say, those who are under four to six months old - are immune from its allure.
It's been the better part of a decade since I gave any to Puma and Cassini is about 4-5 months old and the catnip had little effect on him as I expected. Puma was all over it though as he knew what it was!

Cassini goes into the vet on the 14th for his neuter surgery.

Ah, yes, neuter surgery, a very sensible policy, agreed.

Mind you, just mentioning this brings to mind some of Gary Larson's cartoons for some strange reason....

I'll bet that Puma knew exactly what it was; and I imagine that Cassini will acquire a taste - which may in time develop into a refined palate - for the stuff sooner or later.

I fed the cat. She apparently was not amused. Don't know what her problem was, I gave her the can opener.

I think that she expects her human to address the challenges and complications posed by the can opener.

In her mind, she will remind you that she is quite possibly an accomplished huntress, capable of bringing you birds, mice and rodents to your bed, or sofa, should this be deemed necessary, and that, while her claws and teeth are more than perfectly serviceable, thank you very much, they are not quite up to the challenge of opening a tin. That is your task, human, one you should give careful considerate to discharging with due decorum and respect.

Here's a pic of us outside on the balcony relaxing and reading.

Lovely pictures, and I must also applaud the reading material you have chosen, artfully peeking out of the bottom left of the picture.

My little buddy Cassini just lost his baby upper right canine tooth in my hand! He was trying to eat some of my food and as I picked him up something fell from his mouth onto my hand and I thought it was food and he was trying to eat it up. But when I looked more closely, it was a tooth!

I've read that we (humans) almost never see baby cat teeth laying around after they lose them because the cat will eat them, and Cassini was no exception as he was trying to eat his tooth too.

Fascinating.

Quite extraordinary: I hadn't known that cats will try to eat their baby teeth - presumably to re-ingest the calcium.

Some cats eat, or try to eat, the weirdest things. I just found my Billski dragging one of my housemate's freshly baked vegan muffins across the kitchen floor. Other foodstuffs recently favoured by him and Pickle include entire cobs of sweetcorn, crisps of any sort, baked potatoes, raisins (I stopped them just in time) … the list goes on and on but basically, if either of them see me eating something it's a green light for them to experiment with it. Experimental corners nibbled away from packets of non-seasoned soya mince chunks, uncooked pasta, hmm. I don't encourage it, they just do it.
