Here's the "About this Mac" screenshot. Before I believe I only posted the one from my eMac, which is now sold.

Basic eMac on the left, and a G3 PowerBook (FireWire) on the right. My old iMac is in pieces at the moment and can't get a screeny from it.

Seeing all these duel processors really makes me want a new machine

Your G4 is faster than the eMac I have. It's so freaking slow it drives me nuts.

I have Mac OS X server 10.4.6 with 704 MB ram on a PowerMac G4 400, and it is not slow I play movies from across the network using itune full screen, while this runs as my server, WEB, DNS, Open directory and file server.

I also have 2 iMac G3 the one with 320 MB and a G3 350Mhz, and a G3 333Mhz with 512, the 512 screams, this run Mac OS X 10.2.8

My iBook G3 300 with 192MB ram run ok, with Mac OS X 10.2.8. So I all you need to do is put more memory in it.

My eMac 1.25 Ghz with 512 runs great BTW, so I don't understand why you are complaining. OK I do have 2 CD intels, and a 1.5 Ghz powerbook (not listed yet, still at apple being fixed).

You have the power to run both 10.3 and 10.4

True - a 1GHz G4 Power Mac is still a highly usable machine. I know someone who produces three magazines a month using 1 1GHz G4 PowerBook (Alu) running Tiger, Quark 6.5 and CS2. Works a treat. She is looking at a last generation quad as an upgrade though...

Every 10 minutes, no. Every three years, yeah, it's time for an update. The G4 is an excellent machine...but Jaguar is an awfully outdated OS. Go buy Tiger.

I think you're being a little too hard on him. Jaguar is still a good OS, even by today's standards, and it was the first real complete version of OS X. If you're gonna make the argument that Jag isn't usable, and he should go out and buy Tiger so he can actually use his computer, you'd better be saying more than that to PC users, whose last update of Panther or Tiger's magnitude was all the way back in 2001. There's still plenty of things you can do with Jag, even though it may not have everything that Tiger does, and it's still always better than using any revision of Windows. Lay off a little bit. :)

Dude, RDR RAM?:p It's cool, yet many people screw up in the RAM making fakes. Just like the Leopard fake screenshots.
Oh, it's real :) If I can get Leopard to run on that box, I'll definitely be putting more RDRAM in there. Still waiting for video drivers though. For now it's just a hack box to have fun on. I still get my work done on the Power Mac G5 and stay mobile with my new MacBook.

Not just a G4, but a DUAL G4 and a gig of RAM
