I know cmd - shift -3 takes a pic of your entire screen, but what does it of just the active window? Thx.

cmd-shift-4 lets you size up what you want taken

cmd - shift - 4 brings up crosshairs, then hit the space bar

this will bring up a little camera icon, and you can select any window
