Any pointers on how to get my download speed fixed? It's going at like 9.0Mbps on the PC I'm replacing with this new MacBook Pro...

there is no local server (the nearest is a good 1000km away) so its a bit higher then i might normally expect.

What is up with that? No ping server in Sydney yet? pfft New Zealand has two...what on earth...

I'll be graduating to adsl2+ in a few days CAN'T WAIT!

people have to do it for them, they arent gonna put all this money into making their own servers/lines etc it would cost literally billions.

your ping wont really decrease, download speed will be nicer but :D

i have ADSL2+ and its not really that great. hate telstra.

My new results from my newly acquired Home connection.

I'm adding the Ping test...

For my other AT&T Data Card and College results see below:

Just redid my speed test.

Here ya go!

Edit - Here is the Speed Test result for my AT&T Aircard. I am currently New Orleans, so I am assuming the network AT&T has here is still capped at 3.6 Mb/s vs the current update to 7.2 Mb/s in many other markets. Data card tops its limit at 1.8 MB/s, but I asked around AT&T tech, so I'm justing waiting for Data cards to be updated to a new limit:rolleyes:

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Also, A respond:

$80 for 30/15 Mb/s?!? That's a rip off. I get 101/15 for $99.

$80 for Internet with cable service... so it's obviously less with Cox....

Well, I didn't mean they make it on their own, I was thinking that since NZ managed to have two ISP's on board for this beta, I had hoped that Sydney would have at least as many.

My ping isn't anything to be proud of...at all. My average ping to google varies from about 200-300ms and the ping test gives me north of 140ms.

And whats bad about telstra? Are you too far from the exchange?

my ping is around 220ms to google. fun fun.

everything is bad about telstra. bad plans, but services, but experience, bad downloads, bad quality. im close to the exchange (within 1km) and the quality of the line/connection is good, but its the rest of it that is ****.

Just started seeing the "ping test" results so I decided to check mine. Pleasantly surprised with my results. Guess Comcast has some redeeming qualities after all. Still disappointed with my speed test results. When is Comcast (here in the Savannah area) going to go to DOCIS 3.0? Can't get an answer from Comcast.
