I've never really paid attention, I guess I'm lucky. I just have a standard Motorola Router with an Airport Extreme Base Station

Mine. IDK if it is good or not. Pretty great for me. I really couldn't imagine much faster internet.

Just heard from my dad that we'll be getting the super-high speed internet from videotron tomorrow. I'll post the before and after speeds!

I don't understand why this is happening with AT&T! When I move, I think I'm just going to switch everything to Comcast, including phone, internet, and cable.

Your lucky you even have the option to go to Comcast. the only provider around here is Att.. ):

this is my speeds at home on one of the more expensive home plans offered in new zealand.
I'm going to ring up my ISP today and give them a piece of my mind. The speeds I have been getting are just... shocking.

mate... thats pathetic! what plan (speeds) are you on?

I am on Go Large, which is being replaced with a similar plan at the end of the month with another plan for $10 more and no extras.
Theyre basically screwing us over.
My current plan is "Unlimited" speeds, but when you read into it, it becomes clear that they "Manage" it at peak times so everyone gets the best experience.
I'm trying to persuade my parents to change to vodafone at the moment, but they dont like the idea of a 20GB cap (our current plan is unlimited) even though I'm the one doing the downloads and would quite happily download less, but faster.
All of this is costing us $50 per month, which isint cheap either.
I really want to ring them up and give them a bollocking, but I think i'll show some self restraint at the moment.

that is ******. i cant believe that they "shape" you during peak hours!

here in australia there are no "unlimited" plans, we have "unlimited" ADSL2+ with telstra, but we get capped back to 64kbps after 25GB is downloaded. you may aswell not even have internet at those speeds in a house full of four computers.

we pay $100 Aus a month :(

sucks how we are so far behind aye.

Try 9 computers with 3 mbps down and 64k up:eek:

Here's mine for the lolz. Also attached a list of ping times from BASH when Hughsnet REALLY was sucking the rug. Yes, satellite internet.
