oh then it shouldnt really be a problem then, youd only be using 1/2 computers at a time for downloading stuff i take it?

There is a 6 Mbps/512kbps plan for like $5 more We're on the 3/384 plan currently, so we are getting what we are paying for. (Our download is slightly faster than they say)convince your rents to upgrade?? faster faster faster!!
That's one thing I like about my internet
AT&T uses DSL and Comcast uses cable. I don't want my internet getting slowed down when my neigbors are using a lot of it which is what happens with cable. Not with DSL. I get my clamed speed at any time of day when my friends/family with cable report it slowing down during the day.

i agree. my ADSL2+ is faster. maybe it was a busy day?
does fibre work in the same way as cable (speeds are shared among the street etc)?
Fast by my standards, next tier up(15Mbps) runs close to $100 in Canuckistani money.
my net, fairly consistent and close to the advertised 10 down and 1 up. It's just too bad that Canadians get so shafted on net service.
Finally, a pingtest server in Sydney. And the results are good TPG ADSL2+ And just for fun, I did a test to an LA pingtest server, since most of our data comes from the west coast of the USA.
Did a speedtest as well, except those were pretty bad. DL was varying from 10 to 15.5 Mb/s, but the ping was steady at 20ms.

here is mine from the GFs. telstra ADSL2+. really bad line quality.
