GimpShop. all i want to do is be able to make the white corners transparent and also be able to make others things transparent. Gimp never does what i know PS can do. like when you delete part of a picture you can make the removed part transparent. Gimp never does this for me. arrr!
Oh . . . have you tried duplicating the layer, deleting the corners on the top layer. How do you guys export the graphics you make to icon files?

I use Icon Composer, which is a part of Apple's Developer Tools. Just dragging in whatever images I want to make icns files of and let Icon Composer scale them. It even handles psd files just fine.
Here's an example where I drag in a png file, 128 x 128 went fine, but when I drag it into the 48 x 48 version, it needs scaling:
And it also makes a mask:
When all the fields (that I want) is filled I can just save it as a new icns file.
