~Shard~ said:Not a stupid question at all. For most of them, just bring up the Properties pane for the App itself, and do a cut + paste on the actual icon depicted - it's that simple! Other ones like your Trash, Finder, etc. icons though, you need to do some minor hacking in your system files. I wouldn't recommend that you play around with those however, since you are unfamiliar with the basics.

Their is a application called ShapeShifter that you can get from download.com. Link.
You just download different themes and icons and then you just double-click them. Shapeshifter sets everything up for you!
Eastend said:There are a couple of free programs that can give you more than one dock, I have 3 docks, if you'll notice the 2 blue arrows on one of my dock icons this is a program called DockDockDock, it's Japanese. I keep it in my menus and switch easily to other Docks.

~Shard~ said:Kay, just to clarify, I looked into this and it isn't free, which is what I had initially thought was probably the case. Oh well...
rickvanr said:I'm quite sure there are free alternatives. Let me look around, I forget what I used.
~Shard~ said:Sure, fi you find any please let me know!
This ShapeShifter app seems more geared towards themes and the like anyway, so a person may not simply be able to check their Finder icon specifically (as an example) using it. Not sure though, would have to try...
rickvanr said:Alright, so I just found how I installed a theme on my machine. I use the theme "smoothstrips" by Max Rugbert. Some of his themes download an installer which will change all the files needed to change your appearance, and then if you want to revert back to aqua there is a little installer that reinstalls the default appearance.
