I agree based on what my ears told me, but with the DT770's in particular I was told they're very bass heavy. The A700's were also fairly full. The only ones I haven't tried thus far are the V-Moda M100's and I don't think I'll go that route because I don't like over-ear phones, regardless of how badass they do look, and people have told me the on-ear M80's aren't nearly as bassy.

But then, I understand why most "proper" headphones aren't. When I put on symphonic, choral, or other nuanced genres, the bottom end of the Beats seems too pronounced. However, if you listen to trap, metal, or other genres that need a lot of low end, the more "natural" or "neutral" phones are lifeless and flat.

It's all down to what you want out of a headphone. Plus I'm not gonna lie. These things look CRAZY slick and that's worth an extra $50 to me. It's like buying shoes: you can find extremely comfy shoes, but if they're ugly I don't want 'em.

Dude, much respect.

Love how you looked for what works for YOU, found it and rolled with it. So many people shy away from beats in particular because of the backlash, but it does what you want, you like them, and that's what people should care about first and foremost.

It is funny how hard ppl are trying to convince you something was wrong with your auditioning process or whatever though. Like sennheiser is giving them royalties or something lol

I was checking if the cans had been burned in before making a decision on what was the best Headphone for them. I don't recommend beats because, IMO they simply don't compare to the better HP's that are available and they are overpriced. Im sorry if this upsets anyone. Demo a set of Denon D7000's and you will see my point.

I still have the DT770s actually. Had them for over a year. They just never did the trick for me.

BUT, on the suggestion of a lot of people, I picked up a pair of VMODA M100's, so we'll give 'em a few days to burn in and see what the verdict is, yeah?

Use whatever works for you :). I just wanted to give my opinion from my experience. I have not heard the VModa's personally but from what ive heard they are very good bassy cans, very durable too.

I wasn't saying anything to offend anyone, I was only commending a guy for getting what HE wanted.

Sound is subjective. What you like I may not like, etc. But no need to go any further into that can o worms.

I'm kinda in the mood for a pair of wireless over-ear headphones. But I'm not spending the insane prices for that Beats headset. Anyone have any recommendations? I might go with on-ear headphones as well.

Ugly as hell but excellent sound and headset function. They are expensive too, i don't know which beats you are referring to.

Next week i'm going to purchase this: Audio Technica ATH-M50x. They have improved the padding and finally a removable/exchangeable cable option :D This has been the deal breaker with the "normal" ATH-M50

I have been waiting for a detachable cable version of this too. Just picked up on that was custom made for slightly less than the m50x's. The convenience has been excellent. I use 2 different cables. One with the mic and volume control and the original with that excellent adapter.

How do you like the sound? Good quality bass? I was seriously considering buying some myself for when im in a basshead mood :p

I'm pretty impressed. They use a dual diaphragm design so the bass, powerful and meaty as it is, doesn't take away from the mids and highs. It's not as up front and powerful as the Mixrs, but it sounds a shade better along the way (instrument separation is fantastic). Plus, hey. I think they look sharp.

They're seriously impressive. I'm having a hard time deciding if I'll keep them or the M100's. Leaning toward the M100's just because they're more comfortable.

I picked up the Beats Studios on a whim when I saw them on sale about two months after I got the mixrs. The studios sound amazing to me (remember I love a lot of bass) and they are so damn comfortable. I wish I could make the mixrs fit like them.

I've heard that they totally re-did in the insides of the Studios. Seems like good reviews are popping up for them, and I'm damn glad. I don't think it's a bad thing for headphones to be made that are severely bottom-heavy, long as it's quality bass.
