They look gorgeous; enjoy them.

And do, please, let us know how you find them - whether they are comfortable, what the build quality is like, and - above all - what your thoughts on the audio quality are…...

Thanks!

They paired super easy with my iPhone and my iMac.

I am not a huge audio quality buff, but they sound pretty damn good. I listened to them for a good 2.5 hours today, while riding my bike. So the sound had to travel through a balaclava and a beanie and I still heard all levels of the music clearly.

Just enough bass, when the song requires it. And I can hear the little details in songs. I mostly listened to Manchester Orchestra (not really an orchestra), which I think has a decent range in sounds.. they go from relatively loud, rocking music, to slow, melodic stuff and it all sounds great. I heard the occasional flicker in the sound quality, since they are bluetooth, but not enough to bother me at all (and I would definitely be bothered by disturbances in my music).

They are super comfortable. I'm a sensitive lass.. especially my ears. I have headphones I wear for video games sometimes and I have to take them off between matches usually to give myself a break. I kind of forgot these were on my head.

The material of the ear cups is really soft. It feels like super soft leather. It basically feels like something is just lightly resting against my ears, rather than holding my head in a vice grip. The headband has a really soft suede-like material, so it actually sits on your head instead of pressing against it.

As far as build quality goes, they seem pretty sturdy. I've moved them around a lot and haven't heard any of that plastic'y creaking that you usually hear from headphones like this. They are adjustable and they move pretty easily, but not so easily that they'll adjust on their own. There's a slight clicking in to place mechanism going on with them.

The ear cups move side to side and up and down, so even if you have a funny shaped head like me.. they still actually go against the ear, instead of putting pressure on some random part of my head.

It has controls on the back of the right ear cup. They're pretty simple and easy enough to distinguish. I had gloves on today and I was able to use the controls pretty easily.

The one thing I noticed about them that I really liked was that when someone calls me and i'm using the headphones, they tell me who's calling. I am not sure if it's the iPhone or the headphones, but i've never had this happen with any other headphones i've used. I usually just hear it ring. On these, it puts the ringtone in to the background and says "Call from.. [silly pronunciation of the name]". This feature has come in pretty handy for me, since when it is cold outside, I put my phone in a pocket, rather than on a mount on my bike.

It has a microphone in it for calling as well, but I haven't used it yet, so I have no comments on that.

I would buy them again, even if they were $300.. and i'm really not a huge headphone person. I've had the same pair of headphones (also Bose) for about 4 years or so, which is a pretty darn long time for me. I'm generally pretty fickle and picky. I can see myself using these for years and years to come.

One more small thing.. I like that I can easily buy replacement cups from the Bose website. Like I said, i'm going to be using these while sweating a lot, especially when summer comes around, so they will come in handy.

Apologies for the lengthy response, but you kind of asked for it :p

Replaced my skull candy aviators with these

sennheiser momentum on-ears.

My head is now full of clarity. Worth the £130

Sounds like a very good purchase. Anyway, enjoy them, and, do, please, let us know how you find them re quality of audio, comfort, build quality and so on.

The audio quality is top notch, but unlike the H6, they are not flat. ANC does impair the sound quality a little, but you can shut it off. Comfort is ok at best, but for on ears, that is expected. Build quality is amazing, they are really light, but really solid. There are touch controls on the side of the earcup that are really cool, but I'm still getting used to using them.

Design is really where these headphones shine. The spin brushed aluminum and the leather add to an already amazing headphone.

Glad to see these are already available! How is the sound quality plugged in vs wireless?

I have bose quiet comfort 25. I bought several noise cancelling headphones over the years and while there are better options for sound then bose, bose have the best noise cancelling. I have matched the bose up against sennheiser and many others for noise cancelling and bose outperforms them all. The sound quality is decent enough for me and the noise cancelling is outstanding. I love them.

Thanks a lot, that is an extremely very interesting review.

In a way, they seem somewhat like the B&W P5s, which are also made with soft leather (very comfortable) and metal; this means that they look fantastic, are very comfortable and the build quality is second to none.

Anyway, long may you continue to enjoy them.

After almost two months of waiting! I ordered through a electronics store and they said 20-30 days because they had to import them. But it took almost 2 months! Customs here suck!

I love the headphones. Im coming from Beats by Dre studio and Sony blows them away easy! So comfy and the sound to me is great! I couldnt stand the Beats heavy bass. Im no audiophile so I cant talk about the technical details of the sound they produce, but I like them a lot! Oh and the packaging is really great and the minimal design is awesome.

On our latest Lufthansa flights the Bose Quietcomfort 3's were available, and I was so impressed by the acoustic noise canceling I bought the QC25's on the plane :) Love them, and they will replace my B&W P5's

Just got the new B&W P5 series 2's. First impressions are that they are more comfortable (not as tight on the head). Sound wise I feel they need a little running in. Sound a bit subdued? Same great sound and feel they'll only get better.

Thank you very much for taking the time and trouble to post this (and put me out of my misery, as I had been rather curious as to whether - or, to what extent - the P5s series 2 was an improvement on the original P5s).

Re the issue of being 'tight on the head', this is something I noticed seemed to be a particular problem with the P3s, and is the main reason I stopped using them, although their design was very attractive.

However, I never felt my P5s to be 'tight on the head'.

Nevertheless, while I am very happy with my (original) P5s, I could see myself in the market for an upgrade in due course.

Ah, is that question intended to be…….(really) rhetorical?

Not too sure myself in all honesty. Whilst the Shure SE535's have fantastic sound, I find them uncomfortable for prolonged use. It's a big drawback for me as I'm working on my computer most of the day.

Here are my Shure SE535s.

Tri-drivers. Detachable cable. Incredible for listening to female vocals in the high range, perhaps a bit too bright for some ears. Incredible fidelity when connected to my amp. I use them at the gym and while i'm stuck on public transport and they make time fly by.

Shure SRH840 and AKG 271 MK2

Well, the Shure SRH840 look terrific - how do you find them?

I recognise Sennheiser and - of course - the B&W C5s. What are the others?

When posting a photograph, a comment - identifying and remarking on - the headphone in question will always be hugely helpful to those of us who are interested in such things.

Fair enough; I get that the Shure SE535s are uncomfortable and sympathise fully with you. I found my B&W C5s to be fairly uncomfortable as well, and realised that I have never yet experienced a pair of in ear headphones that I actually found comfortable. Hence, my preference for on ear headphones.

However, does finding the SE535s uncomfortable mean that you plan to buy one of those headphones from Beats?

I'd recommend that you find something both good and comfortable, (and there is a lot to choose from) rather than falling for the triumph of marketing that is Beats.

Thank you for the descriptions of what the headphones are and, also, for the helpful suggestion re hovering a cursor.

Re the helpful suggestion, and a hovering cursor, I regret to have to report that the writing is microscopically minuscule, and exceedingly small, (and thus, rather difficult to read for my less than optimal optical lenses). My ageing eyes and poor eyesight dislike anything that gives rise to any sort of eyestrain, and trying to read this, alas, met certainly falls ingot that category.

More to the point, I am of the world that, when I see a picture, I automatically look for the caption that explains what the picture is about. Hovering over a picture, peering myopically at it - is work; I don't want to have to work reading a social site - I want what I am looking at to be straightforward and clearly legible.
