This is something that i dont understand, iPods are the most popular portable music player but the audio is really crappy...

Pronto with whining?

The largest German computer magazine (Chip) has awarded iPod touch as the best portable music (MP3) player ever. And I can acknowledge that (+iPhone it's the same thing player-wise).

New York, Baby!
After running over the cable on yet another iPhone headphone cable (and severing the wires inside thus rendering it useless) I have decided to give the Sony DR-BT21G Neckband Bluetooth headphones a go, they cost me £39 in Argos, so were twice the price of the iPhone headset, but if they last me 2 months, they will have paid me back what they owe me (I seem to need to buy a set of headphones every month because of the cable.

So far, I have tested them in work, there are about 5 Wireless networks and numerous other devices on the 2.4GHz spectrum and I am really impressed by them.

I've not used Bluetooth headphones before, but experience with RF headphones led me to be a little wary of wireless headphones so when I walked over to get a print job (about 20 feet away) and didn't get a crackle or anything untoward, I was really impressed.

The only problem is my iPhone won't be getting A2DP when OS 3.0 is released so I will have to keep going with the bluetooth dongle provided. (But once Sony Ericsson or Samsung release an Android phone, I will be trying to get one of those...)

Sony MDR-AS50 Neckband Headphones for running purposes.

Original iPod earbuds for my trips to work and school.

Where'd you get the HD800? I thought they haven't even shipped them?

Of course I'm personally leaning towards getting myself a Denon AH-D7000 (I think I need a pair of sealed cans) or maybe add the Grado PS-1000 to my collection :)) This new love is hurtin'!

Okay, seriously where do you work?

I work Apple. I had a pair of Denons a while back and they were great.

The portable amps are great, depending on which headphones you're using. For my AKG 240's, the amp is essential. With the Shure's, it's not necessary.

Mine has an AC adapter, as well as battery capabilities. I just use a compact camera case and attach my iPod classic to it with the included velcro tabs.

I'm using a pair of Ultimate Ears Super.fi 3s. I've had them for about 2 years now and I find them very nice. They block out noise and do not distort the signal. One drawback is that the bass isn't as deep as I'd like. I'm sure the 5s would address this.

I do have a question - does anybody know the best place to get the replacement buds? I lost the one of the ear tips and the other sizes don't fit me. Somebody told me that you can use the M-Audio tips, but I haven't confirmed that.
