I haven't been following this thread, but the B&W P5 are supposed to be really really awesome!! Congratulations. :)

I posted this in the Purchases thread, but I just bought a pair of Phiaton Moderna MS-400 headphones. :)

Review.
Another review from Head-fi.

I got them because they're supposed to be easy to drive and still sound good un-amped. I could have bought them in all-black, but the red pair are less boring!! I was also considering:
-Denon D510r (includes iPhone remote, but I thought the sound quality wasn't close to being "best in class")
- Klipsch Image One (supposedly has overwhelming bass, recessed mids, and not particularly good treble)
- Shure SRH-750 and 840 (both are too big)
- Beyerdynamics t50p (was in serious consideration, but some reviews have said the bass is good, and some say it's not enough!).

I would have liked the P5s, but I don't have the money!! Also, the hardshell case included with the Phiatons, and their foldability, make them more portable. :)

I also bought a pair of Denon C560r in-ears. I bought the same pair 6 months ago, but I lost them. :( As far as I know, they're one of the best "iPhone" IEMs (i.e. includes remote control) on the market.

I know they are not the best quality sound, but remember I'm 63yrs old and just happy to hear anything.:)

When our Sharper Image store closed 2 years ago I got a pair of these at a huge discount, paid about $20 for them.

Denon D7000, retired Sennheiser HD 595. Peachtree Nova for DAC and driving my Rainmakers, dedicated headamp is the Woo WA6 SE.

I just picked up a pair of K430's from AKG (mainly for using with the iPad Djay app). Suitably loud, with a nice 'big' sound.
Until about a week ago I never even knew there were proper headphones out there which didn't have the big 1/4" plug on the end!

Cheap as all get out, I know! But for what I do right now they work...

Here they are cheap in all their glory, but they get the job done for me for now.

I think the Woo Audio is overkill for the phones you have. regardless, still a ridiculous setup. not entirely sure how much juice the D7000 needs though.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8G4 Safari/6533.18.5)

Grado sr-80i's and they are amazing better than any headphones that cost 5 times as much! I totally recommend them
