Noooo, :( , it went this morning. So I'm on a PC, and I can't type cause the keys aren't in the right place, and it's vile and cumbersome. And I can't use the same shortcuts! I never realised how dependent I'd become....

Still, no doubt it'll be good for me to get off the computer a bit for a week or so. And by the time it comes back every household object will have a felt case :D

By the way, that took about 10 times as long to type....grrr.

that sucks! i totally understand what you mean too about the typing and everything.
there was a day that i was on someone else's mac (before i became a switcher) and i thought "this this is messed up to type with, i kept hitting the wrong keys and stuff, made me mad) well now that i've "seen the light" ;) i went on someone's PC and freaked out at all the stupid problems and my inability to type appropriately on it. :D
funny how things change :)

you'll get your mac back, in the meantime i am sure absence makes the heart grow fonder {{{hugs}}} ;)

;) I'm still waiting on a cordurouy 12" PB case. :D

If I didn't have that job starting on Monday, I'd consider making ya one. Maybe I can squeeze in a sleeve in a week or two. :p You not selling it then? Sure you don't want an iBook sleeve?!

Anyway, what happened to your PB?

The whole sorry saga is here, but the main stress was getting Apple to fix it. Grrr. There was a wierd light spot on the screen, still usable, but wanted to fix it before the end of the warranty. But finally, it's away, and will hopefully come back all pretty. :)

In the meantime I put up with a PC (that keeps dropping its connection for NO reason  , and you guys have to put up with my typos :p

Thank you! And it's been less than 12 hours, and my heart has grown fonder. Can I have my PowerBook back now?! :p

Hmm, I still don't know for sure, I'm so chicken. I'm terrified because I have NEVER sold anything online and I don't want to get ripped off, but lately, I feel more and more revolted because I really do not need the PB's power. I'm even of the mind that I should get rid of a laptop all together! But I do like the comfort of having a backup Apple machine should anything happen to one or the other-- so if I'm lucky enough, I'll sell off the PB, get an iBook w/ student union and an iPod mini (which I'll probably sell) and get a shuffle instead!

I just went and read through that thread... I am so sorry! I feel the same way about applecare, man I thought I had it bad w/ my iMac. Well, it did take over 3 weeks to get a simple optical drive replacement (ridiculous!!!) but I'm just glad that everyone I spoke to on AppleCare phone support sounded as though English was their first language. <-- Sad that that is a reason to feel slightly relieved, eh? Whew... at least your PB is finally being sent in. Here's hoping your screen comes back like new (and in under 3 weeks)!

perhaps ebay and PayPal (?) it's hard to get ripped off that way. it is really easy to make an ebay ad, and pretty cheap (i go without all the bells and whistles, they are seldom of use anyway)
just a thought.

Yeah, I knit, I have made a bunch of ipod cozys, but here are the ones I could easily find pictures of:

http://deep.wuputah.com/images/n_cozy/n_cozy_front.jpg (back is black)

I like having the hole at the bottom because i use my ipod in my car along with the dock connector. I took out the ash tray and now the ipod with cozy fits in the little slot that's left there.

I also made a powerbook cozy:

Edit:
Before anyone asks, yes, I do try to coordinate my ipod cozy with my outfit, I am so lame, it almost hurts.

Hey mrdeep, nice cases! I like the choice of colours, and I particularly like the PowerBook apple! That is very cool indeed.

Devilot - I know hw you feel about the PowerBook - I'm a graphic design student, and need a reasonable amount of power for stuff, but the new iBooks are as fast as my PowerBook! Hope it all goes well, whatever you decide. When you make up your mind, I'll make you a sleev for the one you get/keep!

This is a metal (brass) case I made to protect my Handspring Visor Deluxe years ago and it has served me well. I have a partway done project of doing the same thing for my PowerBook Pismo.

The case is made from sheet brass which I folded over a wooden block carved to be a little larger than the Visor. I then drilled holes along the hinge edge and sewed on a strap of elastic cloth. Everything locks together tightly. In addition to holding the Visor it also holds my cards, cash and a few checks so it is my wallet as well.

That's very cool! I like the kind of slightly battered rustic look to it. Looks good with the clean lines of the Handspring. Have you got pictures of the PB one? I'd be interested to see it. Funnily enough, I think the brass wouldn't look great with an newer alu PB, but I like it with the black plastic of the Handspring, and imagine it would also look good with the Pismo.

Very cute - I quite fancy giving felting a go. Do you put it in another case to carry it around so that the ports etc are protected too? And tho I think the logo looks very cool shining through, be careful using the case with the Powerbook on since if the felt is covering the bottom, it's not going to let the heat dissipate properly.

eunnyjang, that's really good! I really like the holes in it, especially in the sides.
