Its all lossless except the ones that were purchased via iTunes Store. Rest are CD rips.
Is that Apple lossless or AIFF lossless? Nearly five gigs for 170 songs is not how it should be even if it's Apple lossless.

**note: if it is indeed AIFF I would recommend converting it all to Apple Lossless, that way you would still have full quality and a smaller file size.

I have not finished ripping all my DVD's. I have 1383 songs and ~15 movies(I am in the process of ripping my DVD's into iTunes.)

Mine are all scattered on three different 1TB drives on my Mac Pro so I will have to show what iTunes shows for most of it:

TV Shows, all purchased in iTunes. Complete seasons such as The Wire, Sopranos, X-Files, Supernatural, Desperate Housewives, the L word, Lost, The Office. If the season is available in HD, then that is what I have purchased.

1st pic is TV shows, second movies. Third is HD movies. Fourth is Music.

I hope you have a killer back up strategy!

Apple Lossless. Majority of the files are ~30 MB each.

This thread hasn't been around in a while, but it always seems to pop back up.

i have a movies folder on my desktop. All .m4v files, save a few. Although I watch them all with VLC, a few days ago I did open them with iTunes. It had to "copy" and then "open" them up for viewing. Did I duplicate every one of the movies? From my movies folder to my itunes->movies folder?

Vast majority ripped from CDs over many years. None purchased from iTunes. Only a handful of the iTunes weekly free songs. Most common bitrate: 192kbps.

Of which I probably listen to the same ~500mb

I have exactly 5100 songs (just hit the 5K mark today), which is equal to 14.4 days and 29.34GB of music.

All bought legally :O

Nothing compared to some of the others but I get by. About 1,800 is my brothers. I like most of his music so I copied his library to mine.
