I just bought a new Carbon Fibre Tripod and Ballhead in preparation for when I purchase the Canon 500mm ƒ/4L IS. The tripod weighs 2.5 pounds and supports over 20 pounds, I'll of course get a Wimberley head to through on it when I purchase the prime.

(The new tripod is on the right, with the old one on the left)

Nice to see that you have your priorities straight. :p

Exactly. Miss Priest? With Halford? Certainly not.

When I finally land a job, I already need 2 days off for that show, and a week off for a cruise in October. :)

I worked for 15 years before my job went to India without me so I can do silly things like concerts while I am in the hunt for the next job.

A frivolous and complete waste of $60.00 but I like it and it cleans up my desk. I bought the little aluminum rack pictured here for my lacie drives.

Thanks for the pic. It's kind of big, but not bad. And my desk is ONLY clean because I'm preparing to move. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't be able to find my keyboard.

To tell you the truth I am not saving any space because I used to have all 3 drives standing up side by side and it is literally the same width now as before.... Just looks a little cooler and much easier to transport if I need to bring them somewhere. I was actually surprised by how heavy all 3 drives were together. Hope this info helps you, the rack is purely for looks I could have down without it. The other surprsing thing is that it took me close to 3 months to get this bad boy since every time I went to Lacie's website it was out of stock and could not find an alternative to purchase it elsewhere.

In this format though, they're less likely to be knocked over. You'd have to try hard to flip that cage, but when they're laying on edge, anything's possible. I've put my drive way away from my desktop so I don't knock it over or spill on it.

I bought a 20' DVI cable and a couple of 15' USB extension cables so I can keep my Mac on the shelf against the wall. No knocking stuff over for me.

All of your peripherals seem very far away from you, you sound very clumsy - do you live in a padded room? :p j/k. I found that my drives were very sturdy with the included upright drive stand. I never had an issue of knocking them over but spilling could be an issue.....

Not inherently clumsy, but when I'm in a hurry...

And the stuff is less than 6' away, but you need long cables if you don't want something stretching between the desk and the shelf. Something to trip over...

True that, no disrespect by the previous post - just playing. I know what you mean though about the distance and liking to have a few extra feet. It can make a big difference + the length the cables come in never really work for the situation. You always find yourself searching for a cable and it ends up being the exact length you need or 10' too long. Doh!!

I got a new bag for my MacBook. It's a Crumpler messenger bag and it cost me £41.00. I got the black version:

I also got a new bin for my room from IKEA which looks a lot like the bin in OS X and I also got a new pin board for my wall and a new bookcase called Billy for my room:
