Acer Aspire One, bought hours after I found out that the new Macbook did not have FireWire. That may sound obtuse but I have a Powermac and a FireWire audio interface (ULN-2), so I was only going to buy a new Macbook if it could serve as a backup / possible replacement for my old Powermac. But my old Macbook died a few weeks ago and I needed some kind of laptop right now for traipsing around work, so I figured a netbook would be portable and not set me back too much money.

That's me installing XP on it ... I feel so dirty inside.

im waiting for my MB to arrive.
i picked up a 2.53 MBP for my cousin so ill take comparison pics when i get it. hopefully monday!

Yeah, hers is the 2.0, I think it sucks that it's not backlit but it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Very nice, very nice!
Nothing wrong with Ludwig!
Looks like you're a fan of Zildjian. I was a Sabian HHX guy.

My old acoustic drumset was a Tama Rockstar for about 4 years ago. A 7 piece set with another 7 cymbals. It was tough to figure out if I wanted to go with acoustic Tama Starclassic or the TD-20. Ultimately the TD-20 was the one I chose mainly because of once I move out the starclassic would be mostly useless.

I hear yah man.. i play mine only at rehearsal room for my band.. Its a 4 year old Ludwig Classic Maple 16x24 9x13 14x16 16x18. I've played tons and tons of high end kits nothing compares to the umph these give out for the price. Yeah i'm going between zildjian and meinl byzance's right now.. They sound great but would be a good chunk of change to convert, but i am in talks with them currently about a small endorsement so who knows might be able to get them for free

Don't! The Aspire One is great. I love mine. You'll want to get the AA1 Fan Control applet for it. Keeps it whisper-quiet, and only marginally warmer.

Besides, if it's XP that bothers you, you can install OS X on it. But otherwise, you're going to love how tiny and portable it is.

So you're 76 cents a litre? In the UK, we're happy that it's now 99.9p a litre.

A quick conversion reveals that you pay 43.9p a litre... we're paying more than double! :(

Wow, that's crazy. It's dropped another 20 cents here in Kentucky. Compared to when the hurricane hit Texas last month, a gallon is about $1.50 less.

^^ Wallace & Gromit: I loved that movie!

We're down to $2.60 here in Denver Colorado. :)

I can actually afford to drive my second car now which uses premium. It's not taking $40 to fill the tank.

Dipped to $3.16 in western NY this morning. Of course, the place I get gas (okay okay Petrol) always goes $0.03 off on Sundays, so it'll be back to $3.19 tomorrow.. I'll tell ya it really helps my paycheck each week :)

It's still $3.59 in Minneapolis. Haven't ventured outside the city proper, but it's still too high around here.

Give me $1.50 gas and we will talk.

$1AUD = $0.69US

1 Gallon = 3.79 Litres

91 Octant petrol in Aust costs around $1.40.

So for a litre of petrol it is $0.967US.

Convert that into US gallons and thats $3.66US.

i think..... ;)

thats only for octane 91, forget the price of 95 of 98.
hate to be a poor uni student like me haha

I saw a good deal at several camera shops advertising the Canon XSi w kit lens and a 75-300 EF USM lens. Reviews here (and elsewhere on the net) said the 75-300 lens was a dud, so I negotiated an upgrade to a 55-250 EF-S IS lens with much better reviews.

Here's the kit:

Nice where did you get it? I got the XSi + kit lens on sale for $699 at Future Shop. I was looking into getting a lens and was jealous when the 75-300mm was included in a new deal at FS for about $899.

Anyways let me know how the 55-250 is and how much/where you got it from please =)

Thanks!
