Just bought some petrol... I'm the only American around here that says petrol, my family thinks I'm odd... of course I live to be British, but that's another story....

It was $2.65 :) I totally forgot to take a pic of the sign

"The Devil's Chair" is a great scary movie that has the best concepts. Its one of those films thats as much psychological as it is visually scary. I can't even begin to explain the head trip I got watching this. The main character is literally crazy and can't separate the truth from the fiction. He had a traumatic experience when his girlfriend was killed and was constantly told he imagined it all, but now has to deal with the fact that what he thought was lies were actually truths. While he is realizing this, the doctor who has him under his care is being stalked by the same monster that killed his girlfriend.

"Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer" is and over the top horror film. This film literally brings me back to the scary films of the 70's and 80's. From the story line to the Visual effects, these films are more shockers than scary. This film was just as much an action movie as it was a scary movie. PLUS it has Robert Englund. It has the classic story line of the kid whose family is killed and he gets revenge on the monsters after years of denial.

I picked up my first Blu-Ray Discs. Of course I had to buy the "Ray Harryhausen Collection". These are classics and the first scary movies my dad let me watch. 7th Voyage of Sinbad is an all time classic that I believe every body should have the pleasure of seeing at least once. Earth vs. Flying Saucers has been quoted/referenced in so many films I can't remember. Ray Harryhausen is a freaking genius.

you are a smart man. although i think petrol isnt even a good word for it as its short for petroleum which is another word for crude oil. ah well its better than gasoline or 'gas'. i used to think Americans only filled up with actual gas (LPG).

You use a single kick with that sweet setup?

Wow thats weird @.@

Ain't nothin' wrong with not having a double bass.
Most people think that if you don't have a double bass then you aren't a pro or aren't capable of certain things.

It looks like his drumset is set up for jazz drumming more than anything like rock or metal, but I could be wrong. With Jazz, you don't need a double bass pedal.

It takes more skill to do interesting patterns on a single pedal than it does to do mostly anything on a double bass.

I aint saying burn the people with single kicks, but at first sight it looked as if the kit was for rock. I use my single more than my double, for the fact I play more swing and jazz stuff.

I think you are right, it looks as a jazz kit at a closer observation:p

Nice where did you get it? I got the XSi + kit lens on sale for $699 at Future Shop. I was looking into getting a lens and was jealous when the 75-300mm was included in a new deal at FS for about $899.

Anyways let me know how the 55-250 is and how much/where you got it from please =)

Thanks!
In looking around the net after I saw the deal with the 75-300 USM lens I found that Henry's, Futureshop, and Vistek all offer that kit, Henry's is cheapest at $849.99.

Like I said the reviews of the 75-300 USM lens aren't that great so I went looking for another zoom lens and found the 55-250 EF-S IS was well received. As it turns out Vistek does have the same kit I eventually bought. But I went to Henry's (as it's closer to my place) and got the kit there.

Now if I wanted to save an additional $15 I could have gone to Aden Camera and get the XSi kit for $699.99 plus the 55-250 lens for $334.99, but considering the lack of support you get from Aden (compared to places like Henry's or Vistek) I thought it was well worth it to get it elsewhere ... and <cough> I quoted the Aden Camera price when talking to the salesperson... ;)

I haven't tested out the zoom lens yet (I'm new to the SLR thing, and really need to learn), but if you're looking to get just the lens the best spot would be Aden according to my search.

I like both type of drumsets.
The only thing that bugs me is when I see a beginner drummer that has a double pedal!

^^ Wallace & Gromit: I loved that movie!

Dipped to $3.16 in western NY this morning. Of course, the place I get gas (okay okay Petrol) always goes $0.03 off on Sundays, so it'll be back to $3.19 tomorrow.. I'll tell ya it really helps my paycheck each week :)

Yeah, we are at $2.13/gal in Oklahoma City. If it dips below $2, I may just pass out.

Well I guess that's acceptable then.
But if I somehow ever figure out you're using both pedals *shakes fist*!

Well, I don't play my kit that much, if ever. The second pedal is hooked up, but it's behind the snare stand, possibly sideways...

Yea, it does bug me when beginners believe they "need" double pedals. I really only pull mine out of my wardrobe (literally, its full of music equipment including a bass drum xD) when i need to practice a song for covering with my band like One, by Metallica (they dont like the way I play or what I play, but if I play their stuff, im in the band).

@syncho- Lol, Sideways?my friend play his hi-hats like that, hes the only one I know that does
