Which thing? The XTi cost about $650 when I got it a year ago, the macro lens about $450 and the kenko extension tubes cost $169.
In other worlds it's a system camera where it's nothing short of amazing.
Too bad the image sensor isn't so good nor is it cheap. Hell if it wasn't $6500 for the body and $5000 for good glass for daily use, I'd buy one instead of a Nikon.
Actually, it isn't some huge number of megapixels (10) but the Kodak sensor is really amazing, and the lack of an IR filter yields remarkable files. Of course, that comes with its downsides too.
I got the lens and camera for $3000 in mint condition with plenty of warranty left. The 8.2 would have cost me a pretty penny more for little that mattered to me.
FWIW, very happy with the camera. I fell in love with photography using an M4P, and it is great to be back using a rangefinder again. Courses for horses.
