That's ****ing awesome!

I assume, with your $20K jet, that you're the same RiotGear from the IGN boards? :p

^^^Smartest purchase I've seen in this thread. It seems so many purchases here are better put towards saving for down-payments. In the larger scheme of things, our little trinkets and accessories are meaningless....

I recently came to the conclusion that I just couldn't justify dropping $3,000+ on a Mac Pro, even with as badly as I want one. Nevertheless, I still needed an updated "gaming rig", and so I had been on the hunt for a good deal. I've messed with custom builds in the past, and am just not too interested in dealing with it right now.

I got one HECK of a deal (IMO) on a refurbished Alienware Aurora from Dell's outlet site:

Core i7 920
ATI 5870
6GB Ram
Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer
Corsair H50 CPU water-cooler
500GB HDD
DVDRW, mouse, kb, 875W PSU, Windows 7 Home Premium, etc, etc...

All for $945/shipped using a lot of lurking and a twitter coupon the moment it went live :p

Should be here within the next week! Can't freaking wait! :D

Nice buy! You're going to have a blast with that machine! I have nearly the exact same specs in my custom built PC. Love it!

Nice Harman Kardon. I have a HK setup myself. The only thing I don't like about it is the huuuuge remote control that comes with it. I still haven't figured out most of the functions, because all these little buttons aren't making it easy to remember things.

Now THAT is a great deal. You could probably OC your Bloomfield to around 4.0 with that water cooling system.

The Mac Pro is a beautiful, powerful machine, but since you went with the gaming PC, you're getting much better performance for about a third of the cost. Smart move.
