If you must know, I do have a university degree (maths) - I received money for graduating. I wanted to buy a luxury watch to represent the fact that I graduated and something to remember it by.

Sorry, but does anybody really "need" a watch? Computers and phones tell the time - sure. I don't wear (or buy) any jewelery and I don't smoke or drink and I've been wearing an $80 Fossil watch for three years. It is such a big deal I wanted to buy an Omega?

And I decided against the Omega because I couldn't justify the price spending that amount of money on a watch.

So what exactly is your problem?!

I've been following and contributing to your decision making process on the watches thread. You don't need to justify why you're buying anything to anyone here, I don't get why some people feel the need to come across in such an aggressive manner when discussing what other people have bought with their own money.

Like I said over in the watches thread, the Tissot is a nice watch, you will like it a lot I'm sure. Maybe buy the Omega another time, the Speedmaster/Seamasters are going to be around for a long time to come yet.

Nice watch. My last purchase was one of these, a Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Strap Sport Watch:

There's no way I would use it doing anything remotely "sporty" it's way too nice.

I was looking at Omega watches for a while (at nearly 10 times the price) but couldn't justify spending that much on a watch when I really don't have the money. I would needed to have taken it out on finance and I didn't really want to be paying off a watch for the next 2/3 years.

This watch was within my budget as I received money for graduating from University.

I know it's not in the same league as an Omega or Tag, but it's a good brand and Swiss made. It receives overwhelming positive reviews online - I just hope I like it!

Very nice watch. You'll enjoy it for sure.

Tissot is excellent quality, had mine for years and during that time I've spent $950 on repairs to my Rolex President.

I meant to thank you for your help in the watch thread. At this stage in my life I just can't justify the Omega. But in a year or so I will be a qualified teacher earning a decent enough wage - so who knows? As you say, the watches will still be around then!

Thank you for the positive comment. I'm looking forward to getting it! I'll post some nice pictures on Tuesday when I get it!

my new favorite things.

I am a pen man. I love pens. But they have to be perfect. This is close to perfect. I also love Parker® pens. But the Zebra F301 Compact does the job and stores in a shirt pocket nicely.
