Prof, $314? Man you got off cheap. My 1st semester (I think it was like 6 years ago) was around $800, lots of chem, bio, math books, they're pricey.
I'm starting my first semester of my master's, one book is $200, another is $350, and some others in the regular price range of $90-$120. Our education system is such a racket.

Dylan, yeah man, good filters are pricey. This is my first decent filter. Looking at some ND filters next year, I'm spent out for this year though.

I plain stopped buying books...has anyone ever done that? I just study the lecture notes religiously. I only by books if there is exam material from them.

A Synology DS110j. Awesome little NAS, draws very little power and supports Time Machine.

I've never seen this before and now you've got my interested.

The reason I would like one is to wirelessly access my files without plugging my laptop into anything. Unfortunately it looks like I need a router with gigabit ethernet to get reasonable speeds, something which my D-Link DIR-635 isn't capable of.

I had a Time Capsule before but the transfer speeds (receiving and transferring) information over wireless to my MacBook Pro was just too slow.

I love the idea that this can download torrents etc as I hate how resource hungry Transmission is!

Yup. I only buy the books that are absolutely required, and I sell them afterward on half.com, if they don't have much to do with my profession.

$314.67 worth of books for my first semester of Freshmen year. And so begins my 7 year journey to my Masters Degree in Psychology.
(I'm in ree-ree math )
You could've used Chegg.com to save a sh|tload of $$.

Along with another 5% off with discount code: CC132783

When I was in college I didn't buy books the last 2 years. I went to the book store and hid in a corner or snuck into a back room. Saved about $2500 that way:D I wish I had a camera phone back then to take page pics ;-)

I bought a whole bunch of stuff before coming to Ireland for a funeral but the only non-dress purchase were these pair of shoes, bought them a few days before I left.

How did that happen?

I was unloading gear out of my trunk in the garage. Got distracted and left the tripod leaning against my back bumper, and forgot about it when I left the next morning on a snowboarding trip. I ran it over surprisingly when I came home not when I left for the trip in the morning. It still kind of works but I am not going to risk my DSLR on a tripod that kind of works.

Nice jessica, vinyl is awesome, and I just recently (couple of months ago) started buying alot of vinyl. Congrats!

If you have a decent Goodwill or Salvation Army around you they are good places to check for cheap quality vinyls. I got a Japanese import Revolver Album on red vinyl for 4 dollars at my local Salvation Army, checking ebay the record in bad condition is worth at least $30. At those shops vinyls are usually around 1-4 dollars each and a lot are in really good condition.

Thanks. I'll eventually own a great deal and will keep it in my entertainment room.

I do check every now and then but I don't find a lot. I do like flea markets for this.
