I'm no photographer, but I am tempted to say that it blocks light coming from your right. Your nose blocks the rest ;)

It helps block outside light so it makes it easier to see what's inside the viewfinder. Also makes it much more comfortable. You need to set it up according to your eye and shooting method.
Lastly, it keeps your nose from smooshing the LCD screen haha.

just bought one of these to replace the og white one from the apple tv (hopefully this one is more impervious to teethmarks)

Maybe the fact that I wear glasses didn't help me finding the utility of this!:D

For my iPhone and iPad. I've been waiting for 3 years for a good NHL game to come out....... pretty awesome game.
Surely, How is it that a hockey game is played on a ipad or iphone? I am interested in hearing some kind of review, as there are many moves (shots, dekes, checks, etc...) that need to be made using just fingers?
