Enjoy. I spent about 18 months in Camp Casey (not 8th Army, I actually tried to re-enlist to go to Seoul but they didn't give me what I wanted and decided to ETS. Regretted it, but my life turned out great anyway.

Enjoy Korea, it's really an awesome country if you actually see it. Unlike most who only see the inside of the "clubs".

Thanks!

Not yet...we're on holiday in the Lake District (UK) in 3 weeks so I'll do it then. I shall post an update afterwards!

Yeah my girlfriends family are incredibly traditional, so I thought it would be best to ask permission properly!

Thanks.

If she says yes don't worry about the update (no offense) but if she says no please please come back and tell us why! Why! Whyyyyyyy!!!!??? :D

I thought with the edu discount it comes to $1999, how did you get it for another $100 cheaper?
At least with the corporate discount, it can very from company to company. Not sure if the same applies to the edu discount.

For example, the corporate discount right now for me is $2,023.

Because Apple factors in that (free) $100 gift card, so it adds up to the original educated price discount of $2K. If you look at the total price, it answers the question. It was a bug in the system when I purchased mine, Apple fixed it so it now correctly takes off that $100 gift card as a savings.

As great as the new Retina MacBooks are, I'm uncomfortable with a machine that I can't upgrade (or fix) myself down the road. So I decided to finally pull the trigger on the 'old style' MBPs.

refurbmacbookpro15inlio.jpg

$1859 (CAD)
2.5GHz Quad Core i7
15.4-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit Hi-Res antiglare widescreen display, 1680-by-1050 resolution

4GB (2 x 2GB) of 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM
750GB Serial ATA @ 5400 rpm
8x double-layer SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
Intel HD Graphics 3000 and AMD Radeon HD 6770M

Should be here tomorrow. It'll be a huge jump from my current MacBook, so I'm quite excited!

I don't know if your plan was to use the SD card in the 5D2, but it takes CF cards.

Thats one busy week, and a fantastic purchase, the battery grip is nice, but that 50mm f1.2 is amazing on the 5D2, enjoy a good purchase ;)

I take it the SD was for another item?

Girlfriend is rocking the 550D now, so i got her extra storage. I bought an 8 GB CF card in store yesterday and i ordered a 32 GB on Amazon. :)

I was fully committed to a rMBP yesterday, but after finding out I can't upgrade the SSD, i'll be going with the 15" MBP. So bummed. :(
