Wowzers! Lucky you!

I recently got a 2nd gen iPad Mini myself, and a little birdie told me there's a new 13in rMBP coming from Santa!

I also just got an Xbox One and a one year subscription to Xbox Live; thumbs up for next gen gaming! How's AC4? I was thinking of getting it myself :)

Once I get a new apartment though, oh man, I'll definitely be getting a new TV and Apple AirPort Extreme. I like your style!

Haha.

AC4 is pretty good, just started playing it. The story is different in a good way and definitely an improvement over AC3.

Graphics are really good, although i don't think they're really pushing the PS4's hardware as much as they could which is understandable as a cross platform launch title. But there's still a marked difference compared to previous generation.

Character control niggles are still there (free running/climbing), its not bad just noticeable at times. But you quickly adapt.

Lots of content to explore and play with. You get your money's worth.

I like it.

That must have been fun! Congrats

Yup.

Someone went on a bit of a binge!

I know.

Just pre-ordered my Coin multi credit/debit card smart card lol for half off. Last day to order though, it will cost $100 starting tomorrow. It let's you load a bunch of your cards into one using a card reader and an iOS or Android app, and you switch between your cards using the Coin card itself which is awesome. If you lose it, it will lock up so no one can use it. It'll also alert you if you forgot it at the table or something because it's got freaking Bluetooth proximity! Only downside is that the battery inside isn't rechargeable, should last for 2 years and then you need to purchase a new card.

We got those (pre-orders) as a holiday gift at work, but I'm pretty skeptical. I'd rather not be a beta tester on it, personally, but it's interesting. I think the tech will improve past this sort of thing fairly quickly though.

I've got my doubts as well which is why I wouldn't have ordered it at full price. I can always sell it when it comes out if I don't like it and hopefully not lose any money. It should be straightforward though. The app does most of the initial background setup, so that will always be improved and updated (again, hopefully).

Ive heard great things about Victorinox knives. Let me know what you think of it once you've used it please.

Image

Got a chance to use it last night but I was only cutting chicken and some onions. First thing I noticed was the weight of the knife. I've been using a 25+ year old Japanese knife that I got handed down to me and the Victorinox was noticeable lighter. Not necessarily a bad thing though, just different. Regardless, the knife felt good and got the job done without any problems! The real test is how well the knife holds up over time, but then again, having paid $22, I'm not too worried.

----------

Don't. All you really need is the knife you just purchased, a paring knife, and an 8" (or longer) bread knife. These three knives, along with a honing steel/ceramic rod, and a two sided sharpening stone for maintenance will handle 99% of what you'll most likely encounter in the home kitchen. Once you decide what you really like in a chef's knife, go ahead and upgrade someday, but you're off to a good start.

I have a block full of Wusthof's Classics, and more than half of them collect dust. My 8" chef's knife does 85% of the work while the other two blades I mentioned pick up the remainder. If you're regularly breaking down whole animals, a boning knife is a no brainer addition, but that's about it.

Sorry, when referring to a set, that's all I was intending to buy. I just want a 4/5 piece set (Chef, pairing, bread, shears and honing steel)

I ordered mine a while a go too!

Your idea is great about selling it if you don't like it. However, you can't because the card will have your name inscribed onto the back of the card... for security purposes.

Right, forgot about that. If I'm serious about it, I could just leave it blank though if that's possible.

Far away from liberals
Because I occasionally forget to turn off my garage lights, I got this timer along with a 30 amp contactor to control my 8' fluorescent garage fixtures. It's a big waste of electric if I leave them on overnight considering they draw over 400 watts.

How do you like the bag? I have been looking at the one for a little bit in navy.

I've got one in grey and it's not bad. It's got a decent capacity for most things, wish there were more compartments but if you can get it on sale it's okay for the price. I don't really have anything bad or remarkably good to say about it, it's a fairly normal backpack.

Apparently personal bankers have been advising people not to buy them because they don't have the security features that regular visa and MasterCards have

As a retired Sailor who's been on 4 boats and served during Desert Shield/Storm, I just bought these two from iTunes. I'm really liking the whole ebook thing suddenly.

I like it. Only had it two days and have already gotten a lot of compliments. It's comfortable and fits quite a bit of stuff. Only downside is that it doesn't have many separate pockets- just the small one in front. (My old bag was a patagonia one that had a ton of compartments for various accessories and things..)

I'm considering getting that cocoon grid-it organizer thing, which may help..
