I lovely and thoughtful gift.

I hope your friend is doing well now...:)
The incident happens about 2 years ago. As of right now she's struggling to walk but trying, she lost a great deal of her motor skills and so far has regained most of it except being to stand. We've known each other since college so she's near and dear to me despite being on the other side of the US.

Aesthetically, I must say that your 'blind tumbler' looks rather lovely; what is it made from, (stainless steel?). And, more to the point, what exactly is it designed to do?

As shown in the picture below (with the original blind tumbler), the grinds drop from the grinder into the blind tumbler. After a quick swish with a mini whisk (since the grinds drop directly into the tumbler, they are very "fluffy" and the whisk settles the grinds), the tumbler is placed atop the portafilter, the bottom is lifted out, and the grinds drop into the filter basket.

I like the design of the original tumbler, but the new one has a wider mouth and makes whisking a bit easier.

So sorry to read of your friend's struggle with the sequelae of the cardiac arrest. The small gift is a so supportive...not in it's monetary value, but the thoughtfulness if it. These little gestures have such a profoundly positive effect. I wish her the best...

I'm in complete agreement with Shrink. A lovely and thoughtful gift, indeed.

Small, but practical, thoughtful gifts are exactly what individuals recovering from serious illnesses or other such health problems need, but are rarely able to fully articulate; a great idea.
Thanks. I wasn't sure what to get her mom but she left everything here to go help her so I wanted to give her something to. She mentioned a Targets nearby so I thought a gift card for her would be a nice gesture.

It's a little girly, but this is this makeup bag I bought is great to use for my camera. I just needed something I can slip into my purse or messenger without being bulky. Fits perfect.

Omron 7 Series BP652 Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor

Every time I go to the doctors my blood pressure is always high. I wanted to make sure it wasn't something serious so I bought a monitor and tested myself at home.

Looks like I only had "white coat hypertension" all along... :D

FYI: I don't know how true this is, but I read recently that the wrist blood pressure monitors aren't as accurate as the variety the goes on your arm.

Apparently wrist monitors use to not be as accurate as arm monitors but I guess that's changed. I read the wrist monitors from Rite Aid and Omron are much more accurate now. My doctor's office actually uses the same wrist monitor.

I plan to take my monitor with me to my next appointment and compare it to the doctor's arm monitor readings.

Just picked these up today to be my all purpose shoes when I have to wear sneakers.

Super light. But i'm a bit worried at high durable they are. The shoe feels wafer thin.

Also picked up a OEM base support for my car.

They look like running shoes hence the super lightweight. They won't last long as everyday shoes.

Im hoping its at least as durable as the shoes that its replacing (nike free runs). My old shoes were battle worn and held up for years.

Then again, it felt a bit heavier and more substantial than these new flyknits.

Looking at one of these myself, maybe the medium/large how does it perform?

Very, Very well. I have had a Grand Turbo built in at my last home, that my step son owns now, a Weber Genesis SE at my new home and now the XLBGE and IMHO, the Egg cooks much better.

but.

It does have a learning curve.

Once you master how to control the temperatures my using the flue then that is the hardest part. It takes very very little airflow to change and maintain a constant temp.

So far I've cooked an 8lb pork butt, 2 - 14lb brisket and 8 Rib Eyes.

I do have an iGrill dual probe thermostat and I would recommend something similar, just because I like knowing numbers. This allows me to monitor internal dome temps and internal meat temps from my phone and to set warnings if a specific temp goes too high.

I'd also recommend reading the BGE website inside out, it is very helpful for 1st time egg owners even if you've been grilling for years.
