Are you new to web design? Just curious. I checked this book out on Amazon and it's gotten some nice reviews. Seems like a good book for a more visual type learner (like me).

I've been writing HTML and CSS for a few months now but it was all basic stuff. The book is great but if you want to try it before you buy, a bit of google fu can yield a pdf of the book.

That book is the best way to start learning how to code.

Duckett finally released his Javascript and Jquery book after repeatedly delaying it since last fall. It seems the wait was worth it though because he manages to explain scripting in such a nice and neat way.

I recommend it to all my graphic designer friends who want to learn more about web design. It's miles better than any other books that are just walls of texts.

No Percy Pigs (though I'm more of a Veggie Percy man), orzo and sun blushed tomato salad or mini Swiss chocolate rolls?! They're M&S staples when I visit :p

Haha no. I've never tasted these. I always buy the same. The mini Swiss chocolate rolls sound delicious. Maybe next time I'm there ...

Google image search. You have no secrets from Google. And, yes, it is a cool city name :)

No metadata...

Oh, and nice garbage can. I have the exact same one in my kitchen. Bed, Bath, and Beyond? Also, where in your kitchen did you put it? To the right of the island with your sink and black dishwasher?

LOL...you guys crack me up!

Haha, it is just to the right of the island but I purchased it from Amazon.com so :p on you there!

Also recently bought this beauty...

How do you like that MP3 player? I've looked it up, and—other than the knowledge that the screen appears to by asymmetrically placed due to that dark gray bar on the rise—I didn't get much information about it. What is the OS like?

I ordered one of these :D It isn't shipping until next month, and it seems the most unorthodox thing I've ever purchased as a huge mac fan, but I fell in love with the K70s when they first came out and wanted to get one. When I first saw the RGB version demoed I was thinking YIKES.

You could animate the cash cab ceiling, or the disco dance floor from Saturday Night Fever lol :D

And yet, if you go with simple white lighting, it's a simple enough keyboard to look ok with a mac. :)

Where do I buy that?! I want it

I could technically and will get these cases free of charge, but this black gunmetal color only costs $3.50 and ships right now, so I said why the heck not. Spigen's Neo Hybrid case for the iPhone 6. Can't wait to try the aluminum model when it comes out in September.

Decided to see what the fuss is about.

OnePlus-One.jpg

I really want this phone! But I'm going to get the iPhone 6 when it's out and I don't like using two phones. Anyway, how do you like it? And did you get it through the invite system or from a third-party vendor?

It hasn't arrived yet. Was lucky enough to get it through the invite system relatively quickly (sidenote...not the best way to sell a product)

I'm also probably going to get the 6 since my 5S has been dropped/damaged. And iOS still edges Android for me in terms of day-to-day use.

But i was curious and figured i'd give the One a shot. Its relatively inexpensive anyway.

Ah OK, I thought you already got it. Do you happen to know why they're making it hard for people to get their hands on their product?

No clue. Could be flawed marketing. Could be brilliant.

But my guess is they don't want to over-promise (pre-order method) and under-deliver. So they use the invite system as a way to match demand with supply i.e. number of invites = amount of units available.

They probably also want to make sure they can handle production/assembly issues quickly thus preventing a returns frenzy. If there's an issue they can simply freeze the invites going out until they solve it.

I replaced my 4S with this, and it's a fantastic phone. I really really enjoy using it. The OS still has some silly little niggles for me, such as Mobile Data getting stuck on Edge after using Wifi, until I turn mobile data off and back on. Although it's been a seamless transition to Android.

My biggest issue is the lack of a decent twitter client like Tweetbot, nothing out there comes close, and any okay one has already reached it's Token limit.

I'm really tempted but I think I'll hold off. I'm not sure if the OnePlus One will receive continued support (particularly software updates). Also, I've read that they take so long to reply to OPO owners who ask for support and some have complained that they never received a response back. I don't think I can trust the company if I ever needed support in the future. Buying the OnePlus One seems really risky. That's why I think I'm holding off for now even though I really want one.
