They were giving a Manfrotto MVH500AH to everyone who bought the slider, i asked them if i could pay extra and get the 502 instead, i already had a 500 but i wanted a head with more drag control!

My first SLR camera was a Pentax ME Super (a lovely small, sturdy, solid well made camera - I learned a lot with it, and loved it); however, even then, the K1000 was legendary. Congrats on the purchase and I hope you get great pleasure form it.
Thanks you!! I've always heard, read, or even seen these cameras put on display in many museums or camera stores. I never dreamed of owning one. I've always been an Olympus OM-1 or Nikon FM2 fan too, but I was convinced to get this one by a special someone after she showed me all the details and example photos it took. I can't wait for it to come in!!! :D

I havent received it yet but the reviews have been favorable.

All of the well made mfi devices that work well, come from vendors such as monoprice and cost at least 12 dollars and up, mostly up. This is a really good price if the mfi chip is authentic.
Please let me know if it works well and I'll send those folks some money just to try out the new tech..
Please do a little report back after you receive it.

May I ask how much the slider and head set you back?

All you men with your big boy toys.

I'm still trying to make my inner child happy.

I was at the mall yesterday and stopped in the little Chinese shop there and picked up these Chinese guardian lions.

Our local Chinese shop just sells prawn crackers and the like. :D

Nice pair of lions though.

This shop had a lot of modern I-don't-know-what its called stuff that young people like to watch on TV and play videos games with which are from the Far East in contemporary style

They had a section dedicated, almost, to ancient Asian arts & crafts, which is where I spent my few minutes at. I really like the ancient Asian art stuff and when I see a place where they have it, I have to stop in and look for interesting things.

the 502 is a great little head. I have a 502 and 504 and both do a fantastic job with my sony ex1r.
I plan on buying another 502 this weekend for future induro hi-hat.

Thanks! I'm in the Bay Area as well :D

You're welcome. I used to live in the Bay area, heheh forgot to update that. I moved from the east bay up to davis for a few years to go to UCD. :) When I graduated, I got a job down in Los Angeles for an aerospace company, sooo I live over by Redondo Beach now.

I would have probably loved it living/working in SF just as much, but so far no regrets. Still, the bay area was pretty nice. :) One thing that caught me off guard was how expensive housing is down here! It's almost the same as what my friends working in silicon valley are paying, only if you want to be a few blocks from the beach it's twice that! Crazy.
