why didn't you go for the newer version?

A few reasons actually -

1) 1st model year bugs
2) Ford is taking out some standard features (like xenons) and you'll again have to pay for them as options
3) Hate the black plastic sideskirts
4) The '15 is going to look dated within its own body style after 3-4 years when they do a mild facelift/refresh...by buying a 2014, I know I got what in my opinion is the very pinnacle of the 2005-2014 years, and I'll only ever compare my car to others of the same bodystyle and I'll always feel I got the best...if I bought a '15, I'd just end up envious of later S550 cars as they get better features/options put back in and they give them a facelift (see #3 above, they WILL paint those sideskirts in a refresh at some point)
5) Generally just don't like the look of the new one no matter how much I look at it. Interior is nice, exterior is really ehhhh to me
6) Deals on the '15 will suck for quite a while. I special ordered my '14, got high trade for my current car, and am currently sitting at $6900 off sticker for the new one which is great for a special order compared to something on the lot that they are motivated to move. That said, if rebates go up when the car comes in, I'll get those so I could save more (and if rebates go down/get worse I have my current ones locked in).

Ultimately I might like the S550 when it gets to the end of its model run and goes through a couple facelifts, but I LOVE the '14 as it sits inside and out all around. I think the S550 will be a tremendous performer and a great car, but right now I'm in loooove with the '13/'14 cars.

Going to try them all out--have never bought this brand before.

I like CG and use their stuff, I think their best stuff is their soaps and paste waxes.

I like Citrus Wash/Gloss when I want a stripping soap if I'm going to polish/glaze/seal/wax, but for regular maintenance where I don't want the wax stripped off, I use Glossworkz.

I also really like their Pete's 53 wax and the 50/50 wax. Great stuff.

I also am a huge fan of Jetseal 109 and EZ-Creme Glaze, and the V series polishes, so a paint correction for me might look like (not counting all the other stuff like trim dressing etc):

-V36 cutting polish (if needed, likely not)
-V38 finishing polish
-EZ-Creme glaze
-2 coats of Jetseal 109 sealant
-2 coats of Pete's or 50/50 paste wax

For microfiber towels I exclusively use pakshak towels, and then a cheap set of throwaway Viking ones from O-Reillys for doorjambs/underhood/wheels/interior surfaces.

Nifty hat, Mate!:D

Now if we could just get some appropriate weather...:p

Thanks! No kidding about the weather. Today was really the first time it has been above freezing since late November, early December; it actually got upwards of 35F!

----

I picked up a new pistol for carrying today. It's the Smith & Wesson M&P SHIELD™ .40 S&W.

I like the '14 betters than the new one too, the new one looks too European to me and I have a German car, it's just not what mustangs are supposed to be. Same with the camaro I don't like what they did with the lights.

That must be a fun group to follow through airport security.

My dad has at least three of his own teeth. But he's a youngster. Just 67.

I'm 68 and have ALL of my own teeth, you disrespectful young whippersnapper!

And if you've ever had your whipper snapped, you know what a painful experience that can be!

Sorry...cheap, OLD, formula joke...

What a great concept and design for the humble paperclip. I do like those, if I had a need for them that is.

I agree. It's just a little, mundane thing that makes little, mundane tasks a tiny bit more pleasurable.:D

----------

I like it. Does it come apart so you can clean where the bristles join the handle?

Really no need...there is no build up of crud where the brush joins the handle. The brush is in a base, and the base attaches to the handle. And the whole brush assembly is replaceable.
