I'm pretty sure this trend was going on 2-4 years back (at least here in Europe). Is it just now starting in the US?
Not sure if it's a growing trend in the US... just in my kids elementary school. The schools in our area just came back from spring break... and a few kids came back from vacation in Hawaii with them. Next thing you know it... every kid in the school has them.
Just watched some youtubes on these. They look pretty fun. Might see if I can find one to have a go :).

I really suck at it... but my kids are doing all kinds of tricks after the first day. It's amazing what tricks the kids can do with these things on YouTube. Fortunately, I have a lot of friends and family at Hawaii that pick some up for me... but my wife did see some on eBay when we were looking for them.

After spending far too much time reading about and researching grills, finally pulled the trigger on my first grill. Just waiting for it to be delivered!

that looks awesome, congrats. My very first gas grill gave out on me last night and now looking for a new grill, thinking of going back to charcoal since I saw a nice smoker/grill at the store.

Congrats, you are going to love it, I enjoyed being able to just fire it up quickly to cook up some burgers or something on the fly.

I have the same setup. I bought the OBDII a year ago and I wanted the app, but I think it was somewhere between $50 an $99 so I never bought it. I was searching again about 2 months ago and was happy to see it available for $9.99.

What a great app.

When I first got my appradio it was $55, now that it's only $9.99 I had to give it a try :)

I have it set up and the mount ready, now I just need the OBD device

Yeah, I bought TomTom the day it was released for $99. It didn't take long to see it price cut down to about $40. Funny the day it was released was a day that I was flying down to Little Rock and picking up a rental car. It was good I didn't need to borrow a GPS from anyone, and I still use the app today, almost 5 years later. I guess I have gotten my money's worth out of it.

Bits and bobs for my camera & GoPro...

Olympus CBG-6 backpack - really well thought-out compartments for a PEN camera and accessories. List price £70 - got it for £29.99 including delivery.

Lens hood LH-48B. Ridiculously overpriced metal lens hood which really should come free with the lens, considering how much the 17mm lens costs. Thankfully managed to get it for £40 instead of £60.

Marumi DHG Super Circular Polarizer filter.

Minoura Le Korde camera mount. Been looking at ways of fixing my GoPro to the bike, and seen some reviews that the official GoPro mount is a bit flimsy. This is as solid as a rock, and about half the price - sorted!

I use one of these from Evans Cycles...

But the Minoura mount looks easier to attach/take off, might have to get one:)

I like the K-Edge for its style and simplicity, but I needed a bracket which I could attach not only to my cycle (also from Evans), but also to various locations on my motorcycle, so it needed to be adjustable in diameter. Obviously the Minoura requires the GoPro tripod mount adapter, but it is a great bit of kit, and very quick to attach/remove.

I may still get a K-Edge to leave attached to my cycle.

Excellent set of headphones. I have the exact same pair (and they are superb); for travelling, I use the P5s, which are the most comfortable headphones I have ever had, and where the combination of audio quality, portability, classy appearance, and sheer comfort make them probably the best headphone I have ever had.

The P7s are at home, and great for listening to music while sitting, relaxing, n the sofa; the P5s are my constant companion, and live in my briefcase or on my desk.

Your iced tea takes on a whole new meaning now!

Yes, I think I see what you mean.

Is that a violation of The Nerd Code!?

Cue the non-existent icon for a burst of delighted guffawing laughter.

Finally bit the bullet and ordered a 15.4" rMBP to replace my 2007 model.

Also picked up this Legend of Zelda box set which has contains hardbound game guides for Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask etc to give as a gift. Very tempted to order one for myself, it's beautifully presented.
