Picked up a DeWalt drill on offer. Never had a DeWalt before, but as I do a lot of DIY my wife was ok with me getting a decent one, rather a cheap one every 12 months…😂

…and a 4TB SSD for my Media library. Got a Sabrent enclosure arriving tomorrow for it. To replace my aging WD 4TB HD: it’s had a good 9 year run, so time to stop taking the gamble and replace (I do have a backup though!).

I bought a... 2013 11-inch MacBook Air today. Won't arrive till next week. Would like to have something smaller to bring around--my Legion is a huge, heavy 16-inch laptop. Plus, I have a few Mac-specific programs I need to run.

EDIT: Oh! I also ordered a second SSD (1 TB Crucial P5) for my Legion, since it has room for a second one. Plus, my SanDisk Extreme died on me, so need a replacement for that anyway. Going to be SO MUCH BETTER storing my games (and other files of course) on a second internal SSD.

Right front tire went flat. Have to replace in pairs (4 wheel drive) so 2 new front tires.

3 days later right rear tire went flat. Same thing - had to replace both rear tires.

The interesting thing is that all of the tires still had sufficient tread. First time I had to replace tires because they were too old and were cracked so could not be fixed. At least that's what 2 out of the 3 folks who worked on them said.

I had to do that on Mrs AFB car. All cracked so replaced with 4 budget tyres. What gets me is you are not supposed to rotate tyres anymore (apparently). Not that I can on my EV anyway as they have different sizes front and back.
But tyres don’t last as long as they used to for sure.

I’m glad I’m not the only one thinking that. A colleague of mine had a 2022 Astra, only done 10k miles and when I was looking at it I noticed all 4 tyres were badly cracked but with 5 or 6 mm of tread left. All Continental tyres too! Not sure if it’s been driven through salt water or what?

No salt water where Mrs AFB car goes. We live about as far from the coast as you can get. She does about 600 miles a year.

Finally upgraded the ol' MacBook Pro from 2017. I bought it in 2018 and it was my first new MacBook as previous. had all been used devices. I decided to splurge a little this time since it was on sale and went for the MacBook Pro M3 14''. I almost bought the MacBook Air 15'' because of screen size but finally decided to go for the Pro for various reasons. I love it!
