Minor update to this, new keyboard, got rid of the desk pad and taken with a better camera. Also took a picture of the monitor mounts (used separate mounts instead of a triple mount).

I'm not him, but I have my computer on a stand and a separate keyboard and mouse that I use and I find it much more comfortable than just using the computer on a surface. I think the main reason is that you are not looking down at the screen but rather the screen is at eye level.

the concern about having the screen at eye level is making me want to buy the stand and wireless keyboard but the problem is, my mbp is the 13", is it a problem?

You are one of them WoW players, huh? Good game, but it sucks the life out of you.

And btw, if I buy a gun legally, it doesn't mean its legal for me to shoot someone with it.

I play WoW on and off. Right now I haven't played in over a month, busy with work and other things. New wallpapers now, and cancelled my subscription as well as my wife's.

The legality of installing Mac OS X on PC is debatable. Because it hasn't been challenged in court, there is no way to know for sure.

Specifically, the clause about this issue in the EULA is vague. It says that the software must be installed on "Apple-labeled hardware." Exactly what is that? What if I buy a third-party HDD for my Mac Pro and install Mac OS X on it? Is that breaking the EULA because the HDD isn't officially Apple-labeled? What if I plug in my Griffin PowerMate, which isn't Apple-labeled? Does the motherboard need to be Apple-labeled, or is it exempt since software isn't "installed on" the motherboard? How about installing Mac OS X on a Buffalo USB drive? Violation?

Anyway, I won't go into any more details since it's very much off-topic. But I'm still running the same basic setup, except now I have a Gigabyte EP45-UD3P instead of my older P5K-V motherboard. Waiting on a nVIDIA 9800GTX+ to arrive before installing Snow Leopard.

P.S. The reason I specify that it's a legally purchased retail disc is because if it weren't, it would clearly be illegal (piracy). No one can debate that downloading copyrighted, for-sale software without paying for it is in fact against the law in most of the countries we live in.

I have an old 13" MacBook and I have no problems with stands or the screen being at eye-level. My MacBook is on the Griffin Elevator which raises the computer 5.5", my desk is at a pretty typical height (not sure exactly), my chair also seems pretty typical (once again, not sure exactly), and I am 5' 8"; with all of these factors my screen is just slightly below eye level but is still at a comfortable position.

I have saved up for a long time, I paid for everything except half of the MacBook Pro. The ACD is refurb(1/3 off normal price). I also have a first gen iPhone in PERFECT condition. I took this with my 32GB white iPhone 3GS. I'm 15. To go ahead and save the posting about how I should not have all this stuff or I need to spend my money on something else 1. I got all of this over a period of 2 years that I worked to get the money for and 2. This is not what I spend all of my money on, but it is one of my more expensive hobbies.

How is the Rain MStand for typing? I don't care to pay $80 for a slick Apple keyboard (that isn't backlit!). I won't be typing my thesis or anything on it, just for forming sentences. Is it sturdy so that when you rest both palms on the palmrest it doesn't shake?

Anyone can correct me at their leisure but I have used laptops professionnaly for over 15 years and have NEVER typed on the keyboard while the laptop was on a stand. If you do so your hands will be in a very uncomfortable angle. You usually use an external keyboard when your laptop is on a stand.

But that's just me of course. ;)

Hey, thanks for the enlightenment :) *gives an internet cookie*

I saw the post of your setup and it's very inspiring  Now i am very certain to buy the wireless keyboard and a good laptop stand, but do tell me, is the Griffin Elevator a good investment?

I see you have the memory stick duo adapter in there. I really wanted that dock/reader when I first saw it but the fact that it couldn't read MS-Duo without an adapter turned me a away. A $20 memory card reader can read MS-Duo without the adapter, you would think a $70 one would (I know it is less than $70 now, but it was $70 for a while).

I bought the Griffin Simplifi for $30 directly from Griffin when it was on sale. The adapter cost $4. So for me it was worth it. :)

It's quite handy though. If you're still considering it, I would buy it.

Really neat. I like the cable passage for the laptop. And BMWs as well :p

Thanks! Haha and I removed my 135i and M3 because I thought it would be a little cluttered for the pic...they're normally 'parked' beside my time capsule ;)

No way you can type on the Mstand. It is one piece of metal so it flexes.
