case...

Drummer, what size of macbook pro is that?

Also what case are you using for your PC?

ditto on the case...i have that same case and its great...highly recommend it, though with any (really) large coolers on the processor you will have to leave the side off, but thats ok as it looks more bamf that way and keeps it cooler...and its only like 70 bucks or so.

great for the pc world if ya want a custom built

Nice monitors Drummer. Why don't you get a wireless keyboard and mouse? They are pretty reasonable these days.

Maybe I'll get a wireless keyboard. But I find wireless mouses too heavy because of the batteries. Too heavy if you use them for hours.

DrummerB, which netbook? Looks sorta like a Dell Mini 9, but then I look again and it looks too large.

If it is a Mini 9, any reason why you haven't put OS X on it yet? :D

It's a ~3 years old Dell XPS 1330. It's a 13'' laptop and I wouldn't call it a netbook, since I can play CoD4 on it on LANs
I would also never put OSX on a PC. That way you only get half of the :apple: experience.

What cooler do you have? I have an Alpenföhn (a.k.a. EKL) Brocken, which isn't exactly small but it fits (~1cm gap). The windowed version with some LEDs in it is awesome. Only a Mac looks better :)

Btw, to those of you with multiple Macs or computers: Synergy is an awesome little software, that let's you control multiple computers on your desk with one single mouse & keyboard. With my PC mouse I can just move to my Mac and even to Linux on my Dell

Drummer-Guess I am just so used to my wireless mouse. I do not lift it much, but I do not notice any weight issue with it. I just love having no wires to deal with. Move it around my desk, can sit back in my chair and not have to stretch for it. I actually bought them for every desk in my office. Though you do go through batteries.

The thing on the left with the light over it is my bearded dragon. I have to cover him since I'm up way past his bed time. Still trying to organize my desk a little better.

I've just returned to full-time study. I like my desk uncluttered. I hate wires and cords.....

Not done yet, but this is what I have gotten done so far:

IMG_0009-1.jpg

I just finished running the Migration Assistant since the 27 incher is new, but I cant access any of my folders from my old iMac. Anyone have any ideas why? I have all my music, pictures, and files on the external hard drive, but it doesnt give me permission to open the folders.

Have you turned on sharing?
Apple - System Pref - Sharing
Then just make sure all necessary ones are ticked..

Make sure these steps are done on your old Mac..
Then connect to the Machine on your new iMac and just copy the files!
